If you go into lowcarbing as just a diet to lose weight then yes you will no doubt gain your weight back afterwards because what have you learned?? You will most likely go back to eating the way you did before and that will make you gain the weight back.

Lowcarbing is a lifestyle - not a diet - yes you can eat lower amounts and lose your weight - but you then continue to be a lowcarber by it being a lifestyle change and that is what you are wanting to do if you are heavy and needing to lose the weight to begin with.

Lowcarbing does not mean cutting out all your carbs - it means choosing carbs that are healthy for you and getting your carbs from veggies is indeed healthy. As you go thru your weight loss you do increase your carbs and the types of carbs you eat - it may be that you add in some fruit etc - but you will find your carb *limit* where your body starts to react and gain.

Lowcarbing is not always the choice for everyone - it depends a lot on how your body is reacting to the carbs and how you want to lose the weight. Most important is to start a lifestyle that you can stick with for life - not a diet that you are going to go off of.

Yes. Anytime you lose weight, it has to be a lifetime change to make it work.

Researchers have found that cutting out ALL carbs and leaving it up to meat and veggies to give you protein can increase your chances of having a heart attack. Cutting out SOME carbs isn't a bad idea though.

Instead of dieting, try eating in moderation and learning how to control your cravings. Craving chocolate cake? Have a bite and call it good. Drink lots of water. And EXERCISE each night for at least 10 minutes. Ten minutes a night can make a HUGE different.

Also, don't expect immediate changes. It took you a long time to get that weight on, and it'll take a long time to get it back off.

The low carb, real food based diet involves eating natural, unprocessed foods with a low carbohydrate content. These studies consistently show that low-carb diets cause more weight loss and greater improvements in health markers, compared to the standard low-fat diet

Highly likely. That's why diets don't work. What you have to do is change your life and how you eat fotr the long term. The things you cut out just have on rare occasions and don't go back to old habits. If you consume more carbs than you need to burn more calories. just see it as a trade off and keep the changes you made as much as possible. you knw what you want fot yourself no one else does. Good luck.

well, u might if you don't eat foods that are low on the glycemic index (GI). look it up and choose foods that are under 60. When you eat foods high on the GI such as coke, fries, bread, white rice... it raises your blood sugar. your pancreas in turn begins to send insulin in your blood to send the excess sugar into ur fat cells so it will drop ur blood sugar. If you want to get fit and stay fit then u need to eat foods that keep your blood levels even. eat basmati rice, sourdough bread, durum wheat pasta, veggies, unrefined foods, peanuts, milk (yes chocolate milk too). if u want to lose weight, keep your calories below what u need. at least 500 calories a day less than ur body weight requires.
