I don't think that men should just "give" money to their girlfriends, but if they make more money and the girl needs help why not? For instance, I was dating a guy and I made more money than him, and at one point I bought him a $450 suit. In a serious relationship it's not his/her money it should be "our" money provided you are both working for the same things.

No way! My b/f and I split everything 50/50. Rent, bills, going to dinner etc... women don't need to be pampered, they need a sense of independence and know how to carry their own weight too. Not depend on a man cause that doesn't always work in life.
It's ok to give affectionate gifts- but if she's an ankle biter, she'll only drag you down. Tell her to get a job!

Not at all. For what reason? A relationship that is based on money exchanged is dead from the start. Gifts are alright on both parts if thats what they want to do.....

no....these days everyone has to work. some men still feel the need to pay for everything because that's how society has programmed them. while it's nice for the man to pay, when i go out with a guy, i do offer to at least pay part or at least the tip or whatever.

it depends on yr culture .. it usually when they are in a serious relationship or engaged. give some small amt of money to sort of practice financial management when they are married.. not sure about other cultures though..

It all depends....I have been in relationship's were I needed money and asked and my BF'S gave it to me... It's a relationship to relationship thing...
