The gift of prophecy is frequently in evidence in charismatic and pentacostal churches, both Catholic and Protestant. Prophecy does not necessarily, and in fact not usually, mean foretelling of future events. God did use prophets that way sometimes in Old Testament times. But prophecy just means that God inspires an individual to speak a particular message to the community or congregation. This happens quite frequently. As you might imagine, abuses do occur, and false prophecies are sometimes given. However, as Scripture says, the gift of discernment of spirits is also a charism of the Holy Spirit, and this gift working within the community enables those in authority to discern between false and true prophecy.

All the gifts of the Spirit are given for the maturing of the church for service and for the spreading of the gospel to the world. This includes the gift of prophecy. Paul states that the gifts are given to bring the church into the full measure of Christ, fully mature, reflecting the image of Jesus, until the end of the world. The church has not reached that stage yet and the end of the world is not yet, so all the gifts of the Spirit should still be manifested in the church.

God's remnant church in Revelation 12 is described as those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus. In Revelation 19:10 we find that the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy. Therefore, you should be looking for a church that keeps the commandments of God (All 10) including the 4th which identifies Saturday as the Sabbath of God, and for a church that has the testimony of Jesus, which is the Spirit of prophecy.

Yes, prophecy & prophets exist today.
You are obviously not travelling in the right circles, as if you were; you'd know some by now.
Know that prophecy & Prophets are similar but not the same. If you have active sin in your life, get it right before you go see a prophet!

Yes, God calls a prophet today. God told Amos in Amos 3:8: "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." God's work is not done, therefore He still calls prophets. The prophet on the earth today is Gordon B. Hinckley. Go to http://www.mormon.org/welcome/0,6929,403-1,00.html for more information.

Possibly, and you find one by checking what they say against Scripture and whether their prophecies come true. If they make one false prophecy or contradict Scripture at all, then they are not a prophet.

I've never personally seen one, but I have seen a few false prophets (i.e. Benny Hinn).

You are your own prophet, only fools look to others for the answers, all are inherently within, given by God, you only forgot, since the fall.

No, there are no more prophets or apostles because there is no more need for them. We now have the Bible in it fullness, it is complete so anyone who says they are a prophet, shun them and don't listen to them for they are not telling you truth.
