This color combination rocks because green exists everywhere in nature, and is a very forgiving color when it comes to getting things together that go with it. What I think would look stunning is to have the groomsmen wear green ties and other accessories, only in a deeper shade of the same green that the girls are wearing. IF the girls are wearing pale ice green, then put the men in dark forest green stuff. Have the best man follow suit, only in a deep maroon shade to accent the pink that the maid of honor is wearing. The reason I like the deeper colors on the men is because you don't want the whole wedding to be too frilly, or too girly with all the pastel colors. If you're not careful, it'll end up looking like an Easter parade. Yes, it's spring, but you are marrying a man ... right? Let him have a little masculinity. The color contrasts will look really good against ivory shirts, too :D As for the flowers, my best advice is to hit up a few flower shops nearby and pick their brains a little. Ask a few questions here and there, but don't take up too much time or they'll think you're just hitting them up - unless you buy something. If you spend a few dollars on some fresh flowers for your home during this process, your home will smell nice AND you'll have gleaned tons of information - not to mention possibly finding a florist who you like enough to hire. Whatever you do, just have fun. Don't get bogged down with all the itsy bitsy, teensy weensy details that really don't matter in the grande scheme of things. Congrats !!!

RE:
Is eggplant a good wedding color to use in the spring?
My wedding is in April and purple is my favorite color. My heart is set on the deep purple but I read somewhere that deep purples are winter colors. Does it really matter?

Nah, I think it's a great, different idea. I like purple too especially in the shade of eggplant. It doesnt matter if it's spring time, that's the color that you like and it suits dark skin tones too. Good luck.

if i am right eggplat is a bit of a dark purple, and it is bad luck for weddings b/c in victorian times it was the color widows wore for a year after their husbands passed, it was the color of morring. I know these are not vistorian times but still just wanted to pass that on......my own personal thought is if you like the color use it, does not matter if it a fall, winter, spring, or summer color do what makes you happy its your day, live it up.

If you like it, use it. I had no idea it was a winter color, but my bridesmaids dresses were eggplant. It was a gorgeous wedding. Don't worry about anything but what you want. It is your day!!!!

Its your day set your own trend; heed the advice of temps and colors though. also use lighter shades to accent your eggplant purple. Then get Michal Franks CD with "eggplant" on it. and go cook yourself some eggplant while you plan the celebration of your union to ther person who completes you :-)
Congratulations on your pending nuptials!

a few years back I made 'eggplant' coloured outfits for a srping wedding here in Aus - the skirts were then embroidered with 1 large (about 10cms across) & 2 smaller vibrant orange heart outlines.
they carried orange tiger lilies with greenery
looked awesome
it is your wedding have what you want

eggplant purple stinks for a spring wedding...lighten it up to pastel. However, it truly doesn't matter....
