This is when the installation cd comes in handy, either re-install or repair microsoft office, you have some corrupted files the are missing therefore outlook cannot open properly...

Open your control panel > mail > data files
Make sure that you have a file that is listed as your default delivery. If it does not list any file in the window, click add and browse to the following directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
you should have a file called outlook.pst to select. if you cant see some of these folders, you need to view hidden files. Control panel > folder options > View > show hidden files and folders - check.
Lastly, search your whole c drive for *.pst to find other outlook files you have. Do step 1 on any you find (write down their directory path so you can find them)
