Personally, I don't think 12 is the right age to date. At the time it may seem like you "need" to date b/c you really like each other, but as you get older and look back at all your crushes, you start to be glad that you didn't date him. If you refrain from dating till your 16, you start to mature as you go into certain experiences with guys, good or bad, but I believe that at the age of 16 you can take those experiences of your crushes (at age 12 and up) to become a true girl that guys will respect. There is no rush to date.

I had my first 'serious' boyfriend at 12. However, I think 14 is the ideal age to start dating.

Since you are under 18 the right age to have a boyfriend is when your father and mother say it is the right age. I am guessing NEVER! Just kidding... but many conservative type parents would have you wait until you are atleast 16 years of age. Other ultra conservative parents would want you to wait until you meet the man you think you might marry.

No, 23 is a good age to be in a serious adult relationship because by then you will be done partying, living life and you will know exactly what you want in a man and not just settle for whoever looks good at the time.
