Yes. The color does affect the way candle burns, specifically the speed of burning. Darker colored candles tend to burn easily than light colored ones (assuming they have the same kind of wax and they have the same size). This is because dark colors, those nearest to the wavelength of black, absorb more heat than those colors whose wavelength are near white. Hence, the more heat, the faster the candle burns.

Well, just like with frosting, the darker the color the faster it will melt.
the whole world works like that.
The darker the paint, the slower it will dry, and the more chances of it running..
Something cools faster when the color is light, and it will stay hot longer if it is darker. So, if your candle is dark black or even a deep red, it will stay hot longer, and the wax around the flame even after it is put out, will stay warm longer.

try this as an experiment, take a light and dark colored candle, with a flat top, and light them both. within a half hour, the dark one will be down farther, and it will have a higher rim, because it melted faster, it created an un melted rim. apposed to the white candles that burn slower, they will have more wax, melted off the sides of the candle, than a rim, on the brim of the candle.

Candles that are darker have darker dyes, and since wax only comes in a few colors, naturally, including white, yellowish brown, and an off yellow. You can see there are no dyes.

And the only dies we have, are liquid or powered dyes, so they are mixed in with the wax, the more darker the color the more layer of dyes you need, so the less wax, and the less wax, the less it takes to burn, since on contact a dye would just disapate, but the wax, slows down the process of the flame....

So i hoped that helped you.
