Losing weight first starts with being happy with yourself and loving *YOU* on the inside. Try everyday to smile and laugh, LAUGHING is supser helpful. It seems weird but it does! =) Try to follow a 1600 calorie diet.
It's best to have 5 meals a day that way you need get to hungry because that leads to over eating.
Here is a couple ideas to help you ge started:
Breakfast:
Oatmeal and a piece of wheat toast w/ 2tsp. trans free margarine. -OR- Strawberry Banana Smoothie (In a blender process until smooth, 1 small banana, 1/2 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup fat free milk, 1/2 cup low fat plain yogurt, 2 tsp. honey, and 1 or 2 ice3 cubes. You can have your smoothie with 1 or 2 pieces of whole wheat toast. -OR- An egg on a piece of wheat toast with salsa (make 2 servings) ---If you are still huingry at breakfast have a small piece of fruit.
Lunch:
1 cup soup (water based not cream base) and a Cheese and Tomato Sandwich: 2 slices whole wheat bread, 2 slices reduced fat cheese, mustard and sliced tomato. -OR_ instead of the tomato sandwich 2 pieces whole wheat with 2 slices of Turkey and Mustard. -OR- A Lean Cuisine Frozen Meal (These are actually very tasty. The meat is delicious.
Dinner: 1 piece Chicken Breast with 2 side dishes: 1 cup steamed veggies, 1 sweet potato, 3/4 cup corn, 3/4 cup butternut squash, etc.
Dessert:
Light Ice Cream or Frozen Yogurt:
3/4 cup with no more than 110 calories per 1/2 cup topped with tablespoon chocalate syrup.
Snacks:
Steamed Veggies, fruit, any nuts (these are great protein),
my personal favorite snack is Light and Fit 60 calorie yogurt cup with a 100 calorie Granola Bar. (I cruch up the Granola Bar and put it inside of my yogurt.)
Also there are alot of great ideas if you go to fast food for example....
Wendys: Ultimate Chicken Grill Sandwich- 390 calories

Also make sure you do 30 minutes of excercise 5 days a week. I like to walk to the store and back instead of drive =)

Also its great to drink one glass of water before eating. Water is very important!

There's no easy way - if there was, everyone would be doing it. The only way to loose weight is to burn more calories than you take in. "Simple" as that. (I know it's not simple....trying to shed some pounds myself.)
The first thing is, you have to decide that you want to loose the weight and that you're doing it for yourself. Once you have the resolution, the willpower will come as well.
Second, get some people to help with your motivation. Check out "3 Fat Chicks on a Diet" and their Forum. I've found a great bunch of people in my age group who are a hoot to converse with AND keep me thinking positive through the tough times.
Third, find out how many calories you're burning. There are a bunch of websites out there that'll help with that. If you don't want to do ANY exercise, then that'll affect how many you're burning -- and exercise doesn't mean getting sweaty and playing sports. Going for a walk in a park for an hour is a great way to get a little bit of exercise and fresh air....
Last, you start watching what you eat. And I don't just mean the types of foods -- I mean your portion sizes as well! Too much of a good thing is bad for you too! Counting your caloric intake is essential to knowing how much you are taking in and will give you an idea how quick you're going to loose things.
You need a deficit of 3500 calories to loose 1 pound. Keep that in your back pocket when you start comparing the difference between calories in and calories out.
Good luck!

Don't target losing more than about 2 lbs per week. If you try to lose faster, your body will go into "starvation mode" and get very stingy about burning calories while at the same time very efficient about storing any calories that you do provide. And it will make you feel awful.
The most effective way to lose fat is aerobic exercise in the "moderate" fat-burning range, ideally first thing in the morning before you eat. When you wake your body is ready to burn fat and your levels of growth hormone are highest at that time. Later in the day it can take up to 30 minutes just to put your body into a fat-burning mode.
Another overlooked way to burn fat is by lifting weights. Skeletal muscle has very high caloric needs... almost twice that of adipose (fat) tissue. Put on a little muscle and you will burn calories all day even at rest. Be aware that skeletal muscle weighs more, so with this approach you may see your weight increasing while your body fat is melting away. Not realizing this often stresses folks who think they should be losing weight as a measure of fitness. Forget the scale, look in the mirror and you will be happy.
You are welcome to look at my Yahoo!360 Blog of September 10 for more detailed suggestions
Aloha

Healthy food for weight loss
Is it possible to eat more food and actually lose weight? Absolutely, if you eat more of healthy foods than empty calorie foods (junk food).
Not everyone realizes that you do not have to deprive yourself in order to lose weight. What you have to do is eat more of healthy foods, leaving less room for "bad" foods. If you eat healthy foods - meaning foods high in vitamins and nutrients and are flavorful - you will find that you want less of high calorie or empty calorie foods. Having a variety of foods that you like and want to eat makes it easier to maintain any changes you make to your diet.
When making any changes to the way you eat, do so slowly and don't criticize yourself if your changes take time to become a habit. Study after study has shown that making small changes is what counts. One change at a time will be easier to accomplish and stick with than making a lot of changes all at once. Every little change you make will bring benefits to your health and your waistline.
Here are some changes you can make one at a time that can give you quick weight loss results:
* Eat breakfast
A lot of people skip breakfast. This is a big mistake if you are trying to lose weight. Studies show that those who do not eat breakfast will overeat later in the day. Also, eating breakfast gets your metabolism going, and so whatever is eaten in the morning is metabolized better. If you are not a breakfast eater, try a fruit smoothie or other nutritional shakes.
* Drink water
Try to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. Ice water is best because it will speed up your metabolism. Water is, of course, calorie free and flushes out fat. And lastly, drinking water about a half hour before eating will curb your hunger and will make it less likely that you will overeat.
* Add vegetables
Adding vegetables to some of your favorite dishes is a good way to get in some extra servings of veggies every day. Some examples are: sauces, soups, omelets, sandwiches, and salads. Of course, vegetables make a great snack by themselves or dipped in low-calorie dressings.
* Try to eat more salads
If you're anything like I used to be, as soon as I heard the word "salad," I would immediately think "boring!" That is until I figured out how creative one can be when making a salad. Try adding new vegetables that you haven't tried before or adding boiled eggs, strips of grilled chicken, cheese, and/or nuts. Keep fresh lettuce and spinach leafs on hand, and remember to go easy on the dressing or make your own healthy salad dressing. A healthy and great tasting dressing is mixed olive oil and lemon juice.

if you want to be fit you must work out. There is no quick fix. You may loose some weight in the short term with just dieting but you'll gain it all back plus some. You have to mix an active lifestyle with eating healthy.
