I am (as I said above) a Pagan who used to be Christian, so how does that make me evil ? To some people I am evil, but not every one I've talked to sees it that way; and I was thinking is it just fear of the unkown, or the fear of being wrong that makes alot of people believe in something their heart no longer feels is right? I did not loose my faith rather I have found it, and before people start saying I worship their 'Satan' let me point out that I worship The Creator (the ancient Greeks called it Chaos) and Gaea, and no I am not talking about little statue representation of these beings. One of them is shapless and formless (The Creator) and the other is the mother of all being (gods and mortals alike) [Gaea], therefore I do not worship an idol.

My appologize to those who were confused about my faith. I believe in a Creator (a shapless formless (meaning that it is nether male nor female) that created all of existance, and I also worship Gaea the ancient Greek goddess of the Earth (she quite litteraly is the Earth itself) and mother or grandmother to all the gods and goddesses of the old religions. She was seen as such even back then, but in different religions she had different names. Does this help?

I am using the term Pagan as a blanket term here people I know it means 'country folk' and is not the name of an actual religion; rather it is as another person put it an umbrela term used to difine any religion other than the majority religion of a region. In my case Christianity.

Do you do the same things you did before when you were Christian? Help people? Be nice to people? etc? Then how do you feel that anyone's opinion of whether you are good or evil deserves any contemplation? If you are happy with you then that is all you need, you can't please everyone and being at peace with yourself is the most you can hope for.

You are not evil. All must find their own path to God. Like you, I was once Christian, but I cannot in good faith accept that religion, and I became a Deist. One of our basic tenents is that all people must find God in their own way.
Paganism is a term given to traditional beliefs before, in this case, Christianity took over the areas. Many have chosen your path because it brings them closer to nature (I don't know if you can lump Wicca in with Paganism, but the two are probably related, I don't wish to offend anyone here). Anyway, the old religions were then tied into Satanism by the Church, when in reality few if any people actually worshiped a devil. You best bet is to simply ignore people who call you evil.

What you described of your belief isn't really traditional Paganism but relates to post Gnostic nature worship.

If you feel better for putting a label on your faith, go ahead but I wouldn't describe you as pagan.

As for Evil? It's nobody else's place to judge.

So long as you don't break the 10 commandments you're not commiting evil. Strictly speaking your belief has little difference to the Gnostic Christian idea of Parent, Barbelo and Sophia.

Both the entities you described could be seen as different manifestations of the same being - God.

I am not going to tell you that you are evil. It is not my place to judge you. You must feel you had a good reason for the change. I will say that by the sound of your question that maybe you have some doubt about the change. What you have to think about and do is look hard at both sides and listen to your heart. No one should tell you what to do,but you can ask questions from some one from both sides. You say you will not worship an idol when in fact that is what you are doing. So please take some time and look at what you might have to lose by your choice.

You are not alone. I was a Christian lay minister for 25 years and an avid bible student for thirty. Was in one kind of church or another all my life.

I don't have people telling me I am evil anymore. I did when I was a Christian and they did not like the churches of Christ.

I used to have to debate my beliefs all the time and defend my views, but now since I am Wiccan, those same type of people just leave me alone.

But to answer your question you are not evil. If you don't believe in Satan like me and most pagans, then how can you worship him?

I understand what you mean.I was raised in a christian home & 2 1/2 years ago was in a homeless rescue mission ( this anthoer and long story) and had christianty shoved down my throat.I always had a problem with it and it just never felt right to me.The only way I can describe how & what I feel is that nature is pulling at my "soul" so to speak. Most of my friends that I have told this to has told me " you are going to burn in hell for that".My wife just tells me " you have to do what feels right to you".

For a PAGAN web page there sure dose seem to be a lot of judgemental CHRISTIANS on it ! .Would this have anything to do with your conversion to the first and true belief system to grace this beautiful planet ? I think this comes from their realiseation, that the religious beliefs that they have been brainwashed with are all stolen or false, and it is they who are evil even by their own GOD'S "teachings "(just in the act of judgeingYOU they have "SINNED" against him suposedly). No you are not evil.....just comeing to your sences.

Sorry Phoenix, but yes, you're evil. The good news is, not only is there good company on the dark side, but we've got cookies, too. ;)

Beats me. I haven't seen anything in what you listed that would point towards you being evil in my book, but I'm sure that some people are going to claim that you are because they consider you apostate.

gotta give you props on this one. You went straight to that instead of doing time as a wiccan because that's the obvious answer like most of us do? Bravo. You must have paid attention in school. Evil is a state of one's mindset and actions, not a state of one's beliefs.

If you don't believe in God then why are you trying to defend yourself by saying that you don't worship an idol? It sounds to me that you feel guilty and that's why you feel the need to defend yourself. And by the way; I don't think your evil, I just think you need to think things through before you make such a big decision. I hope I didn't offend you, and if I did I apologize because I didn't mean to. God still loves you even though your questioning his existence, and please don't forget that. You know that he will always be waiting for you to come back to him so don't feel that you can't go back. God knows that your human and we all make mistakes.
