Insecurity. Boys suffer from performance anxiety, the fear of inadequacy in relationships with women. Their macho culture is really only a thin veneer of media hype. Deep down, most men are sensitive people and this trait of shyness proves it. Be patient. Help him communicate.

Because all the blood is rushing out of his head above his shoulders. It produces a chemical imbalance in his brain that requires constant , focused thoughts just so he doesnt' loose his balance and fall over and bump his other head. So, his natural defence mechanism of shyness takes over all bodily functions and he just stands there like deer in headlights...hoping he regain consciousness by picturing thoughts of "Rosanne Barr" naked so, he can snap himself back into the reality of what just happened to his world...then, looks back into the eyes of his beholder and mumbles: "Did you just say something?"

Sincerely,
Holding my breath
