It will heal faster if you don't bandage it.. Let it breath. Always keep the area clean..antibiotic cream is good and ya keep pants away til' it heals..But, let the air get to it..PS I think tats on ankles are sexy..Good luck and I will pray for it to heal quickly. :-)

You have to be careful, just like with anything deemed an injury. With the leg tattoo you just have to not shave right over it, go a safe distance around, until the skin is completely normal aside from some color. As for showering, that's nothing to worry about. Don't spend too much time with it directly under spray or covered by soap, just enough to cleanse the skin. Do not go swimming or take a bath, tattoo submerging will cause it to be ruined. With my upper ankle tattoo, it itched like no other while it was healing. I would shave around the edge but that line was making me so mad! You just have to resist the urge to get rid of it. Relax, it's annoying, itchy and a pain in the butt to keep moisturized without too much extra touching but many women have done it before you so you can too!

Keeping any sort of clothing or bandage off it is a good idea. The clothing will ensure that the scabs fall off and it could ruin your new tattoo. I got one on my back and it was so hard, the only way to keep it from rubbing was to wear singlet tops, and I ensured I cleaned it on a regular basis. Once the scabbing is gone, you should be able to put on normal jeans again and no pain will occur. Hope this helps.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.
So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.
Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.
A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.
Heal your ankle fully & fast?

dont put a bandage on it this will cause it to take longer to heal
keep rubbing the cream in it dont worry if it sticks to ur pants just dont wear tight fitting ones this will only happen for about a week then it will start to scab and it will heal dont pick the scabs just let it breath let as much air to it as possible covering it will cause it to sweat and wrinkle

Don't mess with it. Just keep putting ointment on it. It will heal and stop itching in a weeks time. Your not supposed to have anything covering it or it wont heal quick and it may mess it up

DO NOT listen to the people that say to put neosporin, vaseline or antibiotic ointment on it!!! use only fragrance free lotion. make sure your clothes aren't too tight around the tattoo and just keep it moisturized.

I have one in the same spot and what you need to do is put vaseline or ointment on it - DO NOT cover it
If you need to roll your paints up or wear a skirt
or shorts
