It primarily depends on your ancestory!
I you or your family (usually based on father) have South Aftrican ancestory, then your child(ren) may be eligiable for citizenship without being born there. Although being born in the country is a sure thing in most cases.
Here is what the South African Government says:
Application for South African citizenship by descent
* Description
A South African citizen by descent is anyone who was born outside South Africa to parents of whom at least one is a South African citizen. The child’s birth must be registered in accordance with the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1992.

* Steps to follow
Complete form BI-24.
The South African parent must complete form BI-529.
In case of adoption, submit the adoption order.
Submit a copy of the foreign birth certificate.
Submit copies of the applicant’s and parent’s marriage certificates (where applicable).
If the applicant was born out of wedlock, both parents must sign the birth registration form BI-24.
Submit proof if the South African parent acquired foreign citizenship.
Submit proof of birth of the South African parent.

The service may take 6 to 8 weeks.

The service is free.
* Forms to complete
Application for notice of birth, BI-24. (obtainable from the Department of Home Affairs)

Jim, I am white and I think South Africa is awesome!! Maybe you have to visit South Africa and see that the white population are still by far the wealthiest and own more than 95% of farm land. The crime rate under whites are also a lot lower than under Africans.

move to South Africa but, if you are white I strongly advise against it, they kill whites there with no impunity, there are seldom an investigations at all and when they do it is hush hush.
and since they have killed and ran off the white farmers they are all starving, so you must be loco to even think of going to South Africa, or Rhodesia. and of course if you are a black American you won't be accepted as one of them as they don't like black Americans either,
