Absolutely. Call this human curiousity ... the old "what if" scenario. Just what would've/could've happened if I did actually ask her out?

Yes, I think the inclination to wonder is natural; our minds need to be occupied with something or another or they become bored and worry over the same ground repeatedly. We also have a tendency to second-guess ourselves as well.
Fortunately, our thoughts are kept in secret, so we are free to wonder repeatedly, "Did I make the right choices in life?"
Truthfully, probably not but we live and learn, then we die.
Ain't life grand?!
