That's going be tough getting out of...you need to do it gradually...Even try depriving yourself off no sleep at all one night (day) then you'll be so tired the following night you'll (hopefully) be able to get to sleep at a more reasonable time.

Make your bed time half hour earlier a day, or even slower if you have the patience, you need less sleep as you get older but hopefully you can get your few hours into night time then you can have a social life again. Try herbal sleeping pills to help with the transition as they are non addictive. Also stay as active as possible in the day and dont sleep in, this will make it worse even if you have a rubbish night of sleep still set an alarm clock and get up. Your body is stubborn but will eventually come around. As for activity there is alsorts, try the gym (classes are social), look at your local council web site for local interest groups. Walking groups are popular. Bingo, your local pub, seeing friends and family. Invite people over for a meal and spend time teaching yourself to cook from a recipe. Volunteer for local charity shops or get a part time job (16 hours a week does not affect any benefits or pension you get). Write to people you have not seen for some time. Join friends reunited.Good luck with it all.

Skip your regular rest time then go to sleep when you feel like you want to. Sit in bed and don't move until the time arrives when you feel you want to get up after what would be a good nights sleep. Do this consisently. Once you get to sleep at the time you want and wake up at the time you want, then continue to do that everyday for two weeks, and it will be your new biological clock time for sleeping. Period.

I'm no expert in this, but I know there have been studies using melatonin supplements and also light boxes to regulate your body clock. They might be worth a try.
