Dear Frank,
What a wonderful question!
The Bible itself is my favorite because it tells me about the awesome uncreated Creator of the universe, my heavenly Father, and it shows me that Jesus was the Messiah and He was the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy. In fact Jesus was the only Person who ever has his Biography written before He was ever born!!
The first Bible person who came to mind after I read your question and several of the answers is Ruth for a couple of reasons.
My name is Ruth and when I was growing up I hated my name. I wanted a "cool" name or a common one. I wanted to be like everybody else.
I saw a movie based on Ruth when I was a teenager and it really helped me to be able to like my name. It caused me to read the book which is very short. I found Ruth to be a person that I could relate to.
When I read the Bible from cover-to-cover for the first time in 1992, Ruth was a refreshing oasis after reading the book of Judges!
Ruth was a despised Moabite but she became a true believer and not only that she entered the Messianic line. That demonstrates to me that the awesome uncreated Creator of the universe does not want anyone to be eternally separated from Him.
Now that I am in a Naomi-type role I try to live my life to be as good an example as she was so that the people I encounter will want to know the God that I worship.

Well, besides Jesus and the Apostle Paul I like Nehemiah, he was a "no nonsense" type of guy! :o)
Nehemiah 13:6 While this was taking place, I was not in Jerusalem, for in the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon I went to the king. And after some time I asked leave of the king 7 and came to Jerusalem, and I then discovered the evil that Eliashib had done for Tobiah, preparing for him a chamber in the courts of the house of God. 8 And I was very angry, and I threw all the household furniture of Tobiah out of the chamber. 9 Then I gave orders, and they cleansed the chambers, and I brought back there the vessels of the house of God, with the grain offering and the frankincense.
11 So I confronted the officials and said, "Why is the house of God forsaken?" And I gathered them together and set them in their stations.
17 Then I confronted the nobles of Judah and said to them, "What is this evil thing that you are doing, profaning the Sabbath day? 18 Did not your fathers act in this way, and did not our God bring all this disaster on us and on this city? Now you are bringing more wrath on Israel by profaning the Sabbath." 19 As soon as it began to grow dark at the gates of Jerusalem before the Sabbath, I commanded that the doors should be shut and gave orders that they should not be opened until after the Sabbath. And I stationed some of my servants at the gates, that no load might be brought in on the Sabbath day.
21 But I warned them and said to them, "Why do you lodge outside the wall? If you do so again, I will lay hands on you." From that time on they did not come on the Sabbath.
25 And I confronted them and cursed them and beat some of them and pulled out their hair. And I made them take oath in the name of God, saying, "You shall not give your daughters to their sons, or take their daughters for your sons or for yourselves.
Nehemiah was the "Terminator" of the Old Testament! :o)

besides Jesus ....
I would say David... probably because there are more chapters on Davdi than any other person... almost as if God pulls out a big magnifying glass on the life of David...so I will go with the Bible emphasis that gives David the most attention for his personal history, life and prayers

Well besides Jesus- I would say Saul/Paul. His story shows that God can use anyone regardless of what the've done to make a differnce in the world. He went from persecuting Christians to becoming a passionate, devout Chrsitan who ministered to many

Other than Jesus, I'd say Esther! She was such a courageous woman and I just love the way she saved her people--->from the Old Testament
Besides Jesus in the New Testament, I'd say the way God changed Saul and then became Paul!

One of my favourites is Job. He lost everything: his health, his family, and all of his possessions. He kept his faith and God rewarded him with more children, more things, and good health. I have had this occur in my life in a different way, but I was still blessed by the Lord.

May I please tell you two? One is a male and one is a female. My favorite male is King David. He went from a sheppard boy to a king. Gee what a feat!!!!!!!!! My favorite female is Ruth. She left everyone she loved to follow her mother-in-law into a country where she knew no one. That is blind faith.
