I'm writing a paper for one of my courses, and I need to know a few golfing terms (I pretty much no NOTHING when it comes to golf).

Are there different names for the parts of clubs and putters?

Different terms for parts of a swing?

Terms for lining up a shot?

Anything else you can think of?

Thanks so much :)

The club names Start with your Driver. Then any woods 3W,5W,7W. the irons have 7 clubs. 3iron thru 9iron and finally many wedges are out there but basically you have a Pitching wedge and a Sand wedge for close shots and Your putter. The names of the club parts stay the same. Grip,Shaft,Club head. Then the club head itself has names. The front is the face of the club the end is the toe and the end closest to you is the heel. Like a foot. The swing consists of so many parts but basically your "set up" is how you would set up to hit the ball. Then your "take away" is when you take the club back into your "back swing" where you come down is the "down swing" and you'll "address" the ball which is hitting it, then the "follow through" Then good posture, smooth swing back, accelerate through impact and good tempo(not too fast, not too slow)keep your balance. Hope that helps at all

1. ok im going to say the anwser from the top (grip) to the bottom(toe). The club starts at the grip, the grip in slide on the saft whick hooks into the hassel. The hassel goes to the heel which leads to the face(where the ball hits) which then goes to the toe which is on the far side of the club.

2. you start off in your stance then you take the club back wheich is the backswing, then u take the club forward and when u hit the ball its called impact, on your way through the ball its called the followthrough untill u stop the club.

i would have to go on and on and lining up the shot because there is so many terms like right to left and left to right so i would just leave that part out of your report.

some golf language

Fore = a shot is going in direction of another golfer and its telling them to watch out

par = the specified score i golfer should get par 3,4,5
birdie = one shot below par
eagle = 2 shots below par
double eagle = 3 shots below par
bogie = 1 shot over par
double bogie = 2 shot over
triple bogie =3 shot over
quad = 4 shots over
if you get worse then 4 shots over you should quit golfing...haha

hope i was of some help

there are different names for clubs... like a 3 wood, or a driver, or an iron. They are based on the angel of the club. The parts of the swing as far as i can think of is just called the back swing and the follow through. if you didnt know, golf was orgianly made just for men (G Getlemen O Only L ladies F forbbien.) if you want to know more just email me... waukeshabraves26@yahoo.com

Hitting the ball fat - too far behind
Hitting the ball thin - too far ahead (also called skulling the ball)

Draw - curving the ball to the left (for a right hander)
Hook - too far to the left
Fade - curving the balll to the right (for a right hander)
Slice - too far to the right

Shank - hitting the ball on the hozel (where the shaft meets the clubhead)
