i said he sucks, i didnt say i hate him. i kno a homosexual person who goes to my church, and she is loved by everyone. the salem witch trials and all that are misunderstandings. those people didnt kno they were wrong. all those churches who discriminate have unfortunatly misunderstood. Jesus ate with tax collectors and healed sinners, the ultimate hated ppl at that time. he lauged at the rabbis who loved onlty their $ and shunned the poor, crippled and altogetehr less fortunate.

One way or the other, he'll find out he is wrong.
Like most homosexuals, one line of defense is to accuse the peace loving, concerned christian of hate.
They have to maintain the division somehow to justify their immoral life style.

It totally encourages hate - you think he sucks because he doesn't share your delusion. And what, exactly, has the church done to help the gay and lesbian cause? Nothing - they spread fear and disgust, while claiming to love the sinner. You can't love the sinner and hate the sin, when the sin is homosexuality. Gays are defined in society by their homosexuality, so the statement is redundant. Why don't you stop worrying about what celebrites are doing and focus on the beam in your own eye, huh?

Elton John is a homosexual. As far as I know, most Christian religious institutions think of homosexuality as a sin. This promotes a condition where hate can arise.

Christianity teaches people to act like SHEEP, thats what gods little flock are and what the pastor calls you.
I applaud any famous figure for standing up and speaking out on religion. No he doesn't suck as you put it and yes religion does encourage hate. You only have to read this forum to find that out.

Well, you must admit that some religions do their share of gay bashing. A pastor here put up a sign that states, "Gays are going to Hell!" That is an ugly thing to see every day. I fail to see the "love" in that message. What about you? That pastor is using religion to spread hate, and you know it.

That's his belief. Obviously you seem pretty upset by that comment, so maybe he's right.
And I don't think the Spanish Inquisition or the Salem Witch Trials encouraged people to love.
Religion is just something ignorant people use to explain things that they do not understand.

He doesn't hate religion. He hates people who use it to slam others. He has many songs that are about love and that to me is beautiful. I don't care about his gender preference. He has given us some really beautiful music. He does not encourage hate. You have been filled with wrong information about him. I am a Christian and I don't like to condemn, and I have no right to judge.

Are you from the United States? Have you not heard the vitriol directed at gay people, scientists, non-Christians, etc.? If you believe Christianity is displaying itself as a religion of love, you've got a skewed view of what constitutes love.
Elton John said that he respected Jesus, he just thinks that organized religion is harmful.

Marvellous. So your "God" tells you to hate Elton John and say he sucks? Sure, I can't stand his music, but honestly, go get a conscience. Maybe a brain if you have the time. Now shoo, go pray or hate or whatever it is you do.

christianity does breed hatred because of man and his ignorance. The crusades killed many in the name of god. people bomb abortion centers in the name of god while yelling that killing is wrong. they spew hatred towards gays because they dont live by their ideals. ireland has had war between catholics and protestants for years over religious difference. when will people live and let live, beleive and let beleive. no one can say their religion is right anymore than they can say anothers is wrong. that is why its called faith. and who cares what elton john said, hes entitled to his opinon just as much as you, and it certainly hasnt hurt you.

I don't think he sucks. I think he has terrible taste for clothes, but he is right, to a certain extent. He has the right to take it personally, since he's gay and he had been discriminated against.
