I have a desktop computer that has my microsoft word program on it. However I have recently purchased a new computer. I don't want to buy a another Microsoft program and I can't find my old one. Is there a way that I can take and download/burn off my old computer in order to put in on to my new one?

Nope. You can only install software from the installer program or disk. In your case, you have to buy Microsoft Word again.

Good luck

Free - No. There is no free program to take a program from a computer to another.

Money - At almost any (Staples Recomended) office superstore, there is a program that comes with a CD and something to transfer them.

Sorry, but to install it on the other pc you need to have the original disks. There's no practical way to "move" it from one pc to another because there are files in many different directories that the program depends on to run. Also you would have to manually edit your registry to make it work. It's not impossible, but it would take a hacker to do it.

yes
Make a copy of it on a cd and put the cd in the other computer and run it
you might need some kind of serial number but give it a try first

I am not a computer literate but not a hacker ether

short answer...no you have to have the installer. AbiWord 2.4.6 is an awesome FREE alternative to MS Wordhttp://www.filehippo.com/download_abiword/ or , if you need the whole office suite (word, excel, powerpoint) i recommend Open Office as another FREE alternative http://www.filehippo.com/download_openoffice/
