I love to bake and would like to attend a culinary institute. I know it would also be helpful to have a college degree in something else to start my own shop but what would be the best degree. Also is it possible to attend a four year college and culinary institute at the same time?

there are 4 yr colleges where u could study culinary arts and u should also try to minor in business or go for two majors culinary arts and business at the same time

Yes a community college is both a normal college and usually has a pastry program.

However I would suggest going to a cooking school such as the Culinary Inst. of America since it would be more educational in specialty pastries than at a normal college. Also the Culinary isnt of America I think you can minor in business. Cooking schools usually have courses in business management. I went to a lower end cooking school ( which I really regret) and even they had a business management cours.

The best way to do it, would be a Business Degree. Depending on where you live, I would say your best bet would be the East coast for Culinary Arts. Here in California, everything is accelarated. Take your money, teach as fast as possible and get you out. To try and do both of them would be close to impossible. You spend a great deal of time baking outside of work for practice. On top of that you would have baking test.

How about Breaddoughology. Becoming a Breaddoughologist may become a very hot experience if you try to mixed to much into your rising schedule if not handled in the proper realm of degrees.
Breaddoughology takes in the Art of Pastrieology as well and it's fine art. You must master the Breaddoughologist Art before you can endeavor to go on to master the fine Art of a Pastrieologist. If you have enough gluten in ya you would more than likely rise up to your wishes.

In addition to the culinary training, you will need "Business Management".
It's no good to be a talented baker if you can't manage the bake shop!!

definately business management. then you'll know your own business inside and out. you can be in charge of everything and always know how to handle any situation that comes up!
