We lost power for about 20-some hours during the hurricane season of 2004. (We were very lucky, obviously!). The stuff in my freezer was still frozen. I may have thrown some milk away but that was it for the fridge. It might depend on your freezer/fridge. Ours was only 2 years old at the time. But, when in doubt, throw it out.

We had a 12 hour power outage in my hometown & the stuff in the refrigerator was fine because I didn't let anyone open it. The stuff in the freezer was still frozen.

9 hours is a pretty long time. I would think the stuff in the freezer is ok. I wouldn't take the chance on anything in the fridge that can have bacteria, like any meats or veggies. That's just my opinion, though.
