Reform is a big word. It must be contained first. I wouldn't miss read what democratic control means for immigration. The democrats that were elected to a one supported stricter immigration polices and replaced some real weak immigration Republicans. The result will be a tight border and nothing that resembles an amnesty solution. McCain in particular understands this now. Watch and see.

Yes, immigration reform seems inevitable at this point in time, but the reform may not present itself as you desire. The U.S. middle class has been taking some heavy hits and they expect the new congress to do what it can to protect them from additional threats to their rice bowls. The first threat to labor's rice bowl comes from unfair trade practices that result in foreign goods being dumped into the U.S. economy. The second threat is the loss of jobs caused by inadequate control of U.S. borders. U.S. voters beat up on the old congress but that alone didn't satisfy them. They are looking al sur (to the south) for the next round in their fight for survival.

It will probably end up with them giving amnesty to all the ones here (again-Reagan did it too). and then we'll just start all over again. Depressing. At least that's what the talking heads on the news are saying.

It's all talk and no action. It is all it ever will be.
As a legal immigrant, i think they should make it easier for people such as myself to pay for the forms, while they don't let us work..can be difficult.
Reform should be on my asshole mexican relation, who border jumped and works in the fields. It is people like him, where action needs to be taken.
