Everything. Jesus said, if anyone desires to follow me, they must deny themselves, pick up their cross daily and follow me. Anything about the flesh and fleshly desires, the bible tells us to put it to death. Easy to do? No. But as Jesus also proclaimed to us "he that seeks to keep his life will lose it, but he that loses his life for my sake, shall find it".

The way I see it there's no pleasing the Abrahamic God. At the end of the day - the higher power you have to answer to is you and you have to live with your mistakes. So I guess instead of denying your innate nature with thoughts deemed evil like lust, jealousy, envy, laziness, etc... I always recommend coming to peace with those thoughts. That doesn't mean you have to act on them, but don't deny them. Also - no one should deny themselves the occassional pampering, lazy day, etc... It's okay to feel emotions like anger and jealousy even though they feel bad. There is NO FAILURE at the level of the soul. Don't ever let anyone tell you different.

You need only deny your ability for rational thought, then all other things will fall into place.
