I have a problem with contemporary Christian music which also includes hip hop. My spirit is not uplifted and I often feel pained in my spirit. I discovered that God was telling me that this music is not to be listened to.
I thank God that you still have a sensitive spirit. Many Christians especially older christians, who want to be up with the times have stopped listening with their spirits.
My suggestion to you would be--Listen to what the Spirit of God is telling your spirit and go with that!!

You are feeling what a lot of others are feeling. If your spirit is feeling bad, listen to your spirit.

If hip-hop makes you feel good or close to your Savior, just enjoy, but otherwise, find another kind of music.

Please forgive me, but I don't believe Christian Hip-Hop is about Christian worship. I think it is about making money by using the name of Christ in their music. Just my opinion and what I feel.

Everything we do should be for the honour and glory of God. Whether it is hip hop, jazz or what ever type of music make sure you have the right motive. You should be producing these songs for the furtherance of God's kingdom and not to appease the appetite or flesh and whatever you are listening to should be for the same purpose. Love, be bless.

Why should you do something that hurts you. If I like stretching my ears, and claim it as a biblical practice, but then get the holy spirit convicting me on the subject, shouldnt I stop, as this is otherwise in direct rebellion to God's conviction.

Maybe a bit harsh, not what you wanted to hear, but better the critisism of a wise man than the flattery of a fool (King solomon said that one)

I see nothing wrong with this but it is not wise to ignore the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Continue to pray and if indeed you feel led to give it up. I believe it must be done.

Blessed Be
