For you to ask this question you don't want to forgive this person at all. If this person has hurt you over and over then distance yourself from them once and for all. If you allow this then it will continue to go on. It's up to you as to whether you think this person is deserving of your forgiveness or not. Make up your mind either way because holding grudges against people only create HATE in the long run.

Well, the thing to remember about forgiveness is that it is something you do for yourself. If the pain of what they have done is a burden in you life, then go ahead and forgive them. However, do not feel obligated to forgive them just because you are being pressured by others to forgive. You are not required to do so. I don't know exactly what was done to you, but if someone hurt you badly, you do not have to pardon them for what they did.

If you do decide to forgive, remember that this does not mean you need to forget what was done. You can still hold the offending person accountable.

I wish you the best in finding peace with this matter.

To forgive doesn't mean you have to forget and to forgive doesn't give that person permission to do it again. You need to make that clear when they apologize, it's not ok. You are telling them that you acknowledge what they did was wrong or hurt you in some way. If they continue to hurt you, you can still forgive but you also need to make it clear that it is not ok and if it continues, they will no longer be a part of your life and they will not have the opportunity to be forgiven again.

It depends on what they did to you.

If you talk it out with them and are sure they won't do it again, then you can forgive them. But you tell them that you forgiving them doesn't excuse what they did. You say you understand they did something wrong, that it was a mistake and if they don't do it again, then you will learn to trust them again.

If its someone who is purposely (and not accidentally beacause they are just oblivious to life) hurting your feelings all the time, then don't forgive them and just move on.

For me, I forget, but not forgive. As to me, forgiving someone is giving them a clean slate, saying "that's okay that you did that horrible thing to me. I'm stupid so I will believe you are sorry, and I will believe every other lie you tell me".
I could forgive someone if they were genuinely and truly sorry for what they did and never did it again.

You can give someone the benefit of the doubt and one more chance. But not 50.

well if you are a religious person i believe in forgive and forget that is in the bible it doesn't matter how many times they do something to you. But you don't have to be there friend some people just always hurt a person because we keep on talking to them and let them do it it's time to let them go cause it hurts to be hurt all the time specially when it is the same person doing it all the time it will be hard to let them go but give it some time

Forgiving is not so difficult once you learn to do it. Forgiving does not mean you forget what the person did to you and act as nothing happened. You have to learn from the pain the person has caused you and make your action accordingly. That means if you lost trust in the person and does not feel like being his/her friend, that is OK.

Forgiveness comes from the heart and you can only forgive a person if you are willing to let go of the past mistakes and try to live a life without harboring pain in your heart

Perhaps you don't...forgiveness isn't mandatory, and some people don't deserve it. If you want to forgive, then do so (and remember you can never hold the issue over their head after that) or don't forgive...

it's totally up to you...

Forgiving someone is a choice you make. Forgiving someone will drop that load of bricks you are carrying.

Well it depends, does that person deserve to be forgiven? Are they worth giving another chance? If you do decide to forgive that person, it doesnt mean you have to trust them. It might take a while to build up that trust again.
