I don't believe in your Heaven, but I am a spiritual person. What I've found is that those who practice non-violence tend to be very loving people. The non-violent ones are the ones who work as medics and such in the Military. They place themselves in harm's way, just as much as the ones doing the fighting, but do so without weapons.
Non-violent people, such as the Quakers do not sit idly by, but are active.
Self-denial does not preclude action. People who practice self-denial tend to be the ones giving offerings to the poor and needy.
Trying to practice self-denial and non-violence without service or charity is probably pointless, and it would be the rare sort who would do so. It would be like being greedy and self-less at the same time. The spiritual aspects of non-violence and self-denial go hand-in-hand with charity and action. Doing one without the other is like trying to take a sight-seeing tour in a vehicle with blackened windows. Action without purpose is pointless.

You cannot earn your way to heaven. We cannot get to Heaven by following the Ten Commandments exactly, for that is impossible. We cannot make God happy by following the Ten Commandments exactly for that is impossible. We are not perfect, nor can we be, this is why we need to be Saved by Jesus Christ The Lord Our God. He truly saves us and with Him we are set free. Live out a life of faith and do the best you can. Ask God for forgiveness. There is no "ticket to Heaven". You do not get to Heaven by what you do, you get to Heaven by what you believe. Love and appreciate the Lord. God loves you. And by believing and having a strong faith this will make you want to do the right thing. God bless.

Doing the Will of God to gain Heaven won't get you into Heaven. Doing the Will of God because you love God will gain you entrance. Why do we love Him? Because He first loved us.

There is one way to heaven only; by faith in Jesus Christ as one's savior. The bible says, there are none good. It also teaches us that all our good deeds are as "filthy rags" before God.
