I would have to go with the patriotic feel for July. If you're not into the whole red-white-blue theme, maybe opt for something bold and bright. I'm thinking bright colors, like yellow, green, bright blue or a pink.

In my opinion, Dark colors seem to be more reserved for winter (dark reds, blacks, browns, greens) and pastels seem best for spring (lilac, daffodil, etc.), fall colors seem to be whatever matches the leaves (burnt orange, browns, reds).

One person brought up a great point in this thread - try and think of colours that are not extremely trendy and that will still look great years down the road. (a couple good examples would be super-bright colours in the early 90's or day-glo colours in the eighties. Remember the infamous brown and pink combination a couple years ago? they don't look as great now). So maybe even picking one good color and pairing it with a creme, white or even black would be the best.

Good luck!

My girlfriend is getting married in July and she is having Black dresses with Silver sashes. The wedding colours are black navy and silver. I think it's going to look phenomenal! What is YOUR favourite colour? Time of year doesn't have to influence colours. How will you feel about your wedding when you look back on the pictures in 10, 20, 50, years. Think about that when planning any aspect of your wedding.

Sunflowers, hydrangea, callas and dahlias are in season during July...stick with soft colors like pastel purples, blues, yellows and white or cream.

My friends July wedding featured the most beautiful flowers and color motif I have ever seen. She went for citrus colors -- vibrant orange, green, bright pink, and yellow. Her bridemaids wore pink and the groomsmen wore orange ties. I thought she was crazy, but it was breathtaking.

Anyone who sees her pictures goes crazy for her colors.

Lavender and gold would be great. Imagine Lavender dresses on the bridesmaids, goldish dress for the maidof honor, gold flower girl dress, with Lavender roses, yellow roses and whisteria flowers. Bestman in grey tux with gold tie and cumberbun, groomsmen in grey tux with lavender bowtie, and cumberbun.....oh, those colors are great together.
