I've known this girl for just over 3 and a half years now. We're just friends, we've never dated. She's never seemed attracted to me but I always find myself looking at her and wishing that we were in a relationship. A year after I knew her, I told her I loved her and that I cared for her more than anything else. She shot me down and told me I didn't know anything about her. Now 3 years later, we've become really great friends, we can talk about anything, including sex and all that. I still have feelings for her but she seems content on treating me like just a friend.
I don't want to ask her out or tell her I love because she already knows me too well. She knows how much I care for her and how much I want her but all she does is date other men.

All I want to know is if you were in my shoes and you knew how i felt, what would you do? How do I show her I want to be more than just friends?

Im sorry to say this but it sounds like she only sees you as a friend and nothing more. If she shot you down after you told her you loved her, then that should be a clear indication of how she sees you. Ultimately, she will decide if you will only be her friend or more. You cant do anything to change that. If i was you I'd try my luck with someon else. Plus, if you two were to date and things didnt work out, you might ruin a perfectly good friendship. Some things are not worth that.

seems to me you've already told her how you felt awhile back . i think she probably still knows how you feel but she is still seeing other guys so for right now anyway she still sees you as a friend. but some of the very best marriages start out with friends first and you never know her feeling may change later , but meanwhile you should get on with your life and find another girl you never know if there is someone else out there for you if you dont look.

I would tend to think that she probably doesn't have any more feelings for you than she did when she turned you down. Now what you have to figure out is this: Do you want to maybe end the friendship with her by telling her how you feel about her still or just keep being friends and try to deal with those feelings.

It's a tough situation.

some people are prone to having a platonic relationship settle for that because at least you have her in your life....
