This is similar to the condition I have. I started getting those too on my back a few years ago. I went to the doctor and he gave me this cream. It did nothing. I'm not sure what it is called, maybe psoriasis like the other poster said. When I scratch them (extremely itchy), it spreads like crazy. After months with this condition and having it spread from a small region of my back to half of my back, I decided to resist the temptation to scratch or even touch them, it slowly healed and fell off. It stopped for 6 months then it came back. I believe its a reocurring condition. I just ignored it and not touch them, it will away as before. It usually occur when I was under extremely stress or when I scratched my back too harshly.

If it's psoriasis you need to go to a dermatologist and get creams to treat it so it doesn't spread. Psoriasis is Greek for "the itch". When you irritate the skin it will grow back redder and simply look worse. Treat it so you wont get scars. GO TO A DERMATOLOGIST! If your scalp itches use Coal Tar shampoo. You need topicals for Psoriasis such as Protopic.

I AM NOT SURE WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS CONDITION BUT I USUALLY USE NATURAL/HERBAL REMEDIES. A GOOD ONE FOR SKIN ISSUES IS TEA TREE OIL. ALL NATURAL....GREAT STUFF!
