Becuase it simly says in the Bible in 1 corinthians 6:9 that no one will enter the gates of heaven if they commit HOMOsexual offends. Isn't that clear enough for u? U must have not bee reading the Bible if i had to have ask that question. It blatantly gives u the answer right there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't understand any Christian who can say they are Christian but then believe that being good is the only way to heaven. Thats not true!! A good person who gives to the homeless and gives donations and saves lives but, is a non-believer is not going to Heaven. That is the funniest thing i ever heard of! Being good i not the only thing. And yes, ur sexualy preference is a big deal. God made hte wordl for there to be a man and a women to make children. How int he world can a man and man or women and women make babies? Tell me.

Leviticus 18:22 says that God view it as disgusting, detestable, an abomination and abhorrent.

Romans 1:18 talks about godlessness and wickedness.
Romans 1:24 talks about sinful desires
Romans 1:26 talks about shameful lusts, sexual impurity and degrading of the body, and women exchanging natural relations for unnatural ones
Romans 1:27 gets down to specifics and says "in the same way men abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men commited indecent acts with other men.
Romans 2:8 "But for those who are self seeking and reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.

NO ONE knows who is going to Heaven and who isn't but God Himself. However, the bible tells of the angels going to rescue Lot and his family from Sodom before He destroyed it because of the wickedness. Homosexuality was rampant. The homosexuals tried to sexually attack the angels who had appeared as men. Lot told them he would send out his virgin daughters to do with them as they pleased but not to defile these Holy men of God. The bible states that homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord. It certainly seems as though a gang rape of a couple of virgins was a far lesser offense than the homosexual act.

I would guess that this is why Christians "think" homosexuals won't go to Heaven. However, I would further guess that like the rest of us it all depends on our degree of awareness, confession, and remorse for our many many transgresssions that will determine our final destiny.

Because it says so in the Bible.

They can get in, but only if they repent (i.e. stop being gay).

This is just one of many reasons to not be a Christian. Don't shoot the messenger. I'm only telling you what the book says. If you don't believe me, read it.

Look, theology is not decided by popular opinion. The canon was set at least 1,500 years ago. It is very clear that the Bible condemns homosexuality, and that the Bible is the holy scripture of Christianity. If you don't like that, renounce the religion.

You can't just say "my god is a loving god" and expect to get away with it. Going by the Bible, you're a heretic. The Bible says that you should be stoned to death, and that you are going to Hell.

Either accept every word of the Bible or find another religion. It's that simple.

Christians who read and accept every word of the Bible believe that gay people who are sexually active will not get into heaven unless they repent of their "sin."
Christians who have studied the Bible and realize that it can not be taken literally are faced with a Delima with the gay issue.
Some Christians, like the Catholic Church, believe that sex is for Marriage only. Anyone, either gay or straight, who has sex outside of marriage, must confess their sin and not sin again. Do die with unrepented sin would prevent them passage into heaven. These laws and beliefs come from their understanding of the "Natural Law" which says it is natural for man to have relations with women and women with men and not with their own gender.
The question is who determines what is "natural?"
If you are born gay, it is natural for you to have sex with the same gender.
If one is gay, they should respect the laws of their church and do all they can to remain with one partner, as married heterosexuals try to do.
Until the Church leaders come to an understanding based upon recent research, the laws of their institutions will not change.
The best advice is to follow your conscience. If you have an informed conscience, what you do is between God and you.

I think it is wrong to assume that all Christians have that viewpoint. If one believes that all the answers to any questions exist in the Bible, then one might believe that homosexuality is a grave sin.
However, others may find the Bible to be merely one of many guides by which to lead their lives. For example, when the Bible was written the authors (there were many) were trying to establish standards through which to bond society. It may have been that most people disagreed with homosexual as a excessive lifestyle; science has since led us (if you believe in science) in a different understand of homosexuality. Ironically, many early societies did not see homosexuality as wrong or immoral at all.

I don't know about the Christians in mainstream religions, but personallyI know that nomatter a persons sexual prefference or whatever
a person may have done, anyone living today is able to gain everlasting life, if they repent turn around to God's requirements, they can then gain everlasting life in Paradise, yet is that what is being taught in mainstream religion?NoThey teach about going to Heaven or Hell!
I think this is so interesting because I am a person before learning the truth went to many religions. It is relatively the same story everywhere you go to Church, and that is, if your a good person you go to heaven! Technically at most funerals despite how a person has lived they will quote the saying that person has "gone home". "Home Coming for __________". Which means they are gone to heaven to be with the LORD.
Are you aware first of all, people who are dead, are asleep in death. There is no activity. No work or devising in Sheol in which you are about to go, the scripture says. The dead are conscience of nothing at all. ( Eccl. 5:9, Eccl 9:10) Please stop believing that persons who have died are immediately and miraculously in heaven. That is the furthest thing from the truth. Please stop believing persons who are dead are "dead spirits" haunting folks. They are demons, keep in mind they have powers too, it is nothing for them to pretend to be dead loved ones, if they can get you to believe in falsehood they already have your soul. If Satan and his demons can get you to believe the soul lives on after death and never dies...then what real need will you have to hope in the resurrection by means of Christ Jesus? Think about it. John 5:28,29., speaks of persons being in God's memory. Although they remain asleep in death until Jesus calls them out of their memorial tomb. Like Lazarus.he too was asleep in death to the point that he was smelling, Yet Jesus called his name and brought him back to life. This was simply done on a small scale by Jesus and some of his disciples to build faith, and to show what Jesus will and can do for all mankind in the near future thru Jehovah God's Kingdom on a GRANDER SCALE. He will put an end to all sickness and death...and note he didn't resurrect LAZARUS so he could go to heaven. He resurrect him to be right here on earth, though it was temporarily. So when we see scriptures like these below..KNOW THIS IS MANKIND'S OTHER HOPE. & PROMISES held out in the Bible. Keep in mind, it is IMPOSSIBLE for GOD 2 LIE.
WE HAVE AN EARTHLY HOPE

I'm not a Christian, but if there is a GOOD god, then I believe that anyone who was good in their life, whether they were gay or not, or whether they even believed in god or took jesus as their savior or not, they will get into heaven.

As you can see by these answers, there is an incredible ignorance, even among people who profess to be Christian, what the bible says. The bible clearly teaches that homosexuality is a sin and those who practice sin, like adultery, murder, liars, idolaters, will not enter heaven.

It's a shame so many who profess to know Jesus....don't even know His word.
