Like many other things in the military this is a "depends" answer/question. 31 is the typical minimum score but there are some service exceptions that will allow you to enter with a score as low as 26 (which you would qualify for). Your recruiter will outline what exceptions (each branch has its own requirements) these are. The best advice is to study and retake the test. P.S. before anyone even jumps on the poor grunts here - INFANTRY does NOT require the lowest score - 88M has the lowest current ASVAB requirement.

Ask a recruiter representing the branch of the service that you're interested in. You may qualify for something. Better yet, keep studying, especially on the math, until you're able to achieve a higher score that would not only get you into the branch you desire but make you eligible for a skill that will benefit you for the rest of your working days.

27? Did you sleep through High school? I suggest you hit the books my friend or sue the school district for a poor education. The ASVAB is a rather common sense test of what a Avg HIGH SCHOOL grad should be able to do. Personally I'd have to find my paper work, But I think I scored a 89...... Circa 1989.

yes you do. technically. you would only qualify as a categorie 4. most branches require you to score 31 or above. i am pretty sure if you wanted to join the army, they would have no problem getting you in. you would be limited in the mos's that you wanted to do. but you CAN get in with that score.

With a score that low you would need to have something about you that would offset it enough to make you attractive to a recruiter.

And don't expect a job in any sort of technical field.

I don't think so. You will however qualify when the draft comes around. You will be a great bullet stopper.
