It helps to hang the deer upside down and bleed the sucker out, assuming you killed it yourself.
You can also soak the meat in salt water for a few hours.Overnight is even better.
How you cook it also makes a difference.Try throwing some venison into a cast iron skillet over a LOW heat with a stick of butter and some veggies.Let that mess simmer for 45 minutes.
The gamey taste won't go away completely, but it'll be cut down a good bit.
You don't want to totally get rid of that "wild" taste anyways! A hint of it is a nice alternative to the usual everyday meat that you get from the grocery store.

Get a bowl big enough that you can cover the meat with water. Before adding the meat put a small amount of vinegar in the water and stir to mix. Put meat in vinegar water and soak overnight in the frig. Also I found a meat marinade that is called Hickory Smoke Allegro. It's in a clear glass bottle with a gold foil wrapping around the top of the bottle. Marinate overnight with this stuff and you'll never know you are eating venison.

In my experience the best way to get the gamey taste out of wild meat is to soak it for a few hours in sprite or 7-up, then season it to your liking.
