In Iraq I mean. I can understand their sick reasoning for killing Americans but come on, I mean, they're blowing up themselves, their own relatives, men, women, children, babies! And all for what? I mean they're killing way more of each other than they are military troops. Remind me once again, why that is!? I say we bring all of our troops home immedietly and send over about 150,000 Psychiatrists. What do you think?

Thinking like that is the reason we are losing, you have to understand your enemy. It is also the reason why we could never win the war. They think their death gets them into Heaven so they are glad to die, we would have to kill EVERY Muslin in the world for us to win. Their actions you claim are crazy are going to be what wins them the war. Their children and grand children can quote what happened during each Crusade can you name us anything about the Civil War? As to your questions as for what do you remember 9/11?? Because there is a war going on and they know that through sacrifice they will win and again our youth are too busy on MTV exactly why they do not want Western influences. Too bad! God Bless The Southern People.

ITs just there religion or culture to act the way they act. They did all this to start war but we also have to think about the our president he isnt that smart either cause i know he wanted war to start and in some way i know he knew about what was going on, our government hides more crap from us than anything and that is probably why these people do what they do and i dont think that psychiatrists will help i seriously think we should blow up all the terriost and give our president the psychiatrists

the overall idea, from what i can tell, is this:

they live in a world thats still rooted in beliefs from thousands of years ago, and they have immense faith in their religion. but, in much the same fashion that anything is bad when you've got too much of it, faith is only a positive thing when its balanced by the ability to analyze your beliefs, and temper them with understanding in other facets of life as well.

this applies to all religions. not all muslims are terrorists and suicide bombers just like all christians dont blow up abortion clinics.

the men that do things like that are screwed up individuals. they truly believe that what they're doing makes them a hero, and they'll be met with praise and virgins in heaven. they've been raised in a realm of turmoil and strife, born into a fight that nobody can remember the origins of.

terrorism is the last resort of the week, someone with a leg to stand on wouldnt go that route. being as they feel they have no other options, they vie for the worst of the worst, and feel its the only action they have left. the hard part about it, is you cant tell who's who in iraq, our boys arent fighting an army, they're fighting men who hide in shadows and take out civilians with themselves. and the worst of it is that you cant fight an idea. theres no way to be safe at all times, because the more you try to protect something, the more you need to restrict its actions. THAT is the main reason why this war is so disappointing, besides all the lies that started it and the incompetence of the men in charge.

and are they retarded? no. most ppl i've met with mental retardation are pretty nice, and dont usually want to hurt anyone. calling terrorists retarded is much too nice for them, and insulting to actual retarded ppl. i go with "total fruitcake nutbag" or something.

Interesting Idea, !
but have you ever been to a Psychiatrist?
...I'll put it this way, when you go into a mental hospital the only way you would know who the doctor was is by his name tag..

...It is thought that most Psychiatrist go into the field to find out what is wrong with them.

..Agree that killing their own people is crazy,

There are three things we need to remember when we try to fathom the current carnage in Iraq.

1) Violence and victimization breeds just more violence and victimization.

2) Their world has turned upside down; there is no sense or understanding of what is normal now.

3) The minds of these people have been warped by freakishly extreme oppression under Saddam Hussein.

Regarding this last aspect: When you read a lot of history, you see that (among other causes) people become dangerous by experiencing perversity, by having to hide what they really think for a very long time - in order to avoid horrible, diabolical victimization. An excellent historical example of this is the evil Caligula, a Roman Caesar of the first century AD. He had to hide what he really thought and felt for several years in his teens. This mind-bending expericne apparently twisted his thinking, and he was very eager to kill, torture and humiliate others. We see a lot of that now in Iraq.

We in the U.S. often think in terms of logic and political advantage, but a lot of what is now happening in Iraq is the result of an acting out and consequent growth in a culture of violence. Militancy in many Muslim societies will continue to produce violence in various forms for many decades.

I know your idea about sending psychiatrists is well-intentioned, but, as you know, it is quite unrealistic. THIS culture believes in the potential of psychiatry to heal bad feelings such as hatred and resentment. Moslem societies often do not have the same trust in the social sciences. There is also the very real problem that the hateful almost always do not think of their psychological state as a disease really, but an appropriate, even responsible reaction to vitimization and threat. People would have to think they personally need psychological help in order to submit to it.

Christ be with you.

What is happening in Iraq is that a small minority is attempting to use terror in order to force the people to accept them as dictators.

The people of Iraq have voted for democracy in three different elections. Their enemies are attempting to terrorize them into accepting them as dictators.

The Democratic party in the US seems to feel that we should allow the terrorists to win.

I say we support the Iraqi people until they have reached a point where they can defend themselves.

Yes it seems that retarded is a compliment I do not wish to honor them with. Pure zealous religious idiots that will kill anyone that do not believe in what they believe in. This is barbaric insanity. These people want to wipe out everyone who doesn't believe in Mohamed or the Koran or some other foolishness.

Most of the problem is due to religious fanaticism, but the
sending Psychiatrists wouldn't be a bad idea. It might be
a good first start, if they were sent with personal guards.

It's because Iraq is on the edge of a civil war (or 'sectarian violence,' if that term works better) - there are huge conflicts between Sunni and Shiite Muslims. Saddam kept the "peace" by thoroughly oppressing one side to the benefit of the other. It is amazing to see the extreme levels of fear and hatred.

It's called a civil war, regardless of if the Bush administration likes it or not. One sect blows up another, another murders score of unarmed civilians...the CIVIL WAR goes on, and we're in the middle. So let's leave and allow them their civil war, then we can come in and support the victors and get their oil!!!
