You're never too old for pretty teeth! :D
My mum had braces when she was 39.
If people judge you for your braces, then they are not genuine friends.

My brother is an Orthodontist in Tennessee. He put braces on a 60 year old female patient. Braces aren't just for kids anymore. There are health reasons other than cosmetic to get orthodontic treatment. Don't listen to what anyone says about this. Just look around you. You will see more and more adults with braces on all the time.

You are never too old to get braces. My father got them when he was in his late 30's, and now they have one's that are clear, or the invisalign one's where you don't even need to wear them the entire day.
The only problem with getting them later in life is that you're bones take longer to grow, so when you shift the teeth around, the jaw bone will take longer to heal, thus you'll be stuck wearing a retainer for a much longer period of time. I think you should still be fine in 4 or 5 years, but I wouldn't wait much longer than that. And make sure you are getting lots of calcium in your daily diet to make sure everything goes along a quickly as possible.
I hope this helps!

There is no age limit on getting braces in reality a large percentage of adults have braces and no one cares about it. The main difference between braces when you're younger and older is that the older you get the harder it is to properly align your teeth because you have stopped growing for some reason unlike the rest of your bones the older you get the more dense your mandible (lower jaw) and maxillary (upper jaw) bones get which increases the time it takes to move your teeth back into place. If you are worried about appearances you can get invisialign instead of "traditional" braces invisialign is made of removable plastic mouth pieces that you take out to eat, drink, brush but leave them in at all times. Invisialign makes it harder for other people to tell that you have braces. Remember though that invisialign costs a lot more than "traditional" braces and you will have to go to the orthodontist more frequently because they have to change out the trays because they slowly move your teeth i'm not sure how many trays there are all together. Also, before you get the trays you will have to get a series of x-rays to check how you're bones and teeth are and how they will have to proceed (either invisialign or traditional braces require this) if you decide to go with traditional braces they have clear bands to reduce the appearance of the brackets they also have braces that go on the back of your teeth. Either way who cares what other people think about you have braces you're making your smile beautiful. In fact i've been told about how some students actually talk their parents into getting them braces because they cost so much so it's a status thing like HA i've got enough money to get metal in my mouth an dyou don't. With either of these braces you will more than likely experience discomfort so just be prepared for that and make sure you brush three times a day and floss and go in for regular cleanings because if you don't you risk tooth decay and you'll end up having to get fillings after they take off your braces also make sure you wear your retainer after you get the braces removed because the chances of your teeth moving back to where they were to begin with are high and you might end up having to get another set of braces put back on. In any case talk to your orthodontist and look up everything you can just to make sure you know what you're getting yourself into :-D

It might look stupid having braces in for a bit, but its better than having an ugly mouth for life. Its a good investment. Besides, in a few years, maybe you can afofrd insialieng.

You are never to old to improve yourself. My daughter got her braces at around 25 years old. I couldn't afford them when she was growing up. It just thrills my heart when I see her beautiful smile.

i had mine when i was 38 if people think i look stupid, its their problem i have to fix my teeth and i have to do it. i only had it for 2 yrs. you just have to be patient going to your dentist for the adjustment i make it every 2 weeks. there are less obvious ways now to adjust although it costs more. try to talk to your dentist and ask about invisalign. i have a client, he's around 35yrs and he's got it, i didnt know until he told me.
talk to your dentist im sure there is a product for you and your budget. good luck!!
