I just bought a game today ... It is The Sims 2 Nightlife. Everytime that I try to play it, it is just fine until I want to buy something ... & then it shuts off & my computers colors are all weird looking & I have to restart the computer.

The Microsoft website says that my copy of Windows is not genuine. Also, when I restart my computer it also says that.

I got my computer cleaned and everything by a guy who fixes computers ... Could he have possibly put a knockoff of Windows on my computer?

I am not very computer savvy so I need some serious help lol

are you friends with this person?

If not you could report him for doing that.
Id call him on the telephone and let him know, depending on his response would dictate what you need to do.

I fhis response is something like, eh I did what I had to do to get your computer up and running .. well thats piracy. He cant do that legally.

If he was, well I updated your system trying to do you a favor, then you can tell him (or not) no thanks, just give me what I paid for

It could be a number of circumstances that caused it. Maybe he tried to do things the easy way..yeah Ill clean your computer out..bam..formats and reinstalls your O.S.
Thats like a mechanic whos going to give you parts he found at a junk yard, and make you think he really fixed your car with a mickey mouse job.

If hes the neighborhood kid that fixes computers, you probably got what you paid for.
If however this is a person with their own business...they should be taught you cant do that.

Act accordingly after you get his response. That will show you what type of person that person is

when, where and who did you buy the computer from....
they should be able to help you out with this problem...most computers bought from stores already made come with Microsoft windows installed already and they have a legal copy windows in it.....so they should be able to help you find out why it is doing this and help you get the original numbers to fix this problem...
good luck

He reinstalled Windows from a disk he had without entering your original keycode. He owes you a fix.

he could have...i recommend taking it to a best buy or other reputable computer store...you will be able to purchase a license to make your copy of windows legit, then install the right drivers for Sims2.

He probably did. But i fail to see how that could affect the game.

If the game plays fine until you buy something, then your graphics driver must be fine too.

Maybe a bad install.
