I wouldnt say it HAS to be. I have made stuffing just from bread from the fridge when I am in a hurry. It tends to be a little softer in the end but it doesnt bother me!

Every year I make stuffing/dressing. I make a regular white bread variety and a cornbread one. I never dry the bread out. They are just fine every time!

Yes if you are making that kind of stuffing. I tend to make cornbread stuffing myself to me and my family it just taste a whole lot better.

Yes and put it high so the dog does not jump up and get it.
