When we invent a mythology we tend to make the diety all powerful.

The Jews realized a long time ago, sometime around 200 B.C., that they continued to suffer despite being righteous--while the wicked prospered. They concluded that there must be some evil force in the world opposing God. Thus was invented the Devil.
So the problem of evil is resolved. God would like to protect the Jews, but he has that darned Devil to contend with!
(In all seriousness, you don't have to resort to logical gotcha games to win any argument against Christians. There simply is no evidence for the existence of a god or gods.)

God has, for the time being, allowed us to have free will. This means we have the choice to be loving and kind invidivudals and we also have the choice to go against the teachings of Christ and be murderous and hateful if we are so inclined. If God was to wipe out all the sin in the world there would be no one left. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. It is because of Gods mercy that he has allowed us time to repent. If God is to stop all sinners and judge them where does He draw the line? At liars and murderers, thieves, people who don't respect their parents? This mercy that is now shown will not last forever and one day the earth and all its inhabitants both great and small will be judged. This is why we need Jesus.
Do not be deceived. The perpetrators of the holocaust will get their justice at the hands of God. Vengeance is Mine says the Lord. This is why God has a place called hell. It is his jail. A place where people will be given justice for the sins they have committed if they have not allowed Christ to take the punishment for them.

If a being such as God were to exist, then logic would dictate that God would be neither good or evil. He would have a balance of the two within, just as every human being has the capacity for good or evil, this is what free will is all about. I find it hard to believe that God would give us the ability for good and evil and not be capable of these things him self.

God is All Good, and All Powerful. God is a Supreme Being who is perfect in everything. What us less than perfect humans don't understand is that God does not think like us. If we could think like Him then we would be perfect too.
God has revealed to the profits that war is a punishment for sin. That does not necessarily mean, however that the ones fighting wars are the ones whose sins caused the war. Nor does it necessarily mean that anyone who is victimized by war has anything to do with the purpose God has for Allowing the war to happen even if it is unfair.
God is a paradox by his own admission. When He died a terrible death on the Cross the salvation of all mankind was made possible, including for those that murdered Him. He was innocent and the ones who hated Him and murdered Him were not.The same can go for anyone who suffers at the hands of another, as long as he properly puts his suffering in God's hands, he can help in the purification of the souls of his persecutors. At Sodom and Gomorrah God destroyed the cities because of the degrading lifestyle of homosexuality and sodomy. It seems to me that in God's wisdom He was actually purifying them so as not to lose their souls to eternal damnation. When God was angry because of the terrible sinfulness of the whole world he destroyed it by flooding and then started all over again with Noah. I believe that all of those people who died in the flood were purified so that they could be saved, even though they had no belief or faithfulness in God . Also think of a good person suffering from cancer. It makes you think that it is so unfair. But is it? God in His infinite Mercy may be allowing it to happen for the purification of that person's soul. Or maybe that person has made a love pact with God and has agreed in his heart to offer all of his suffering for the soul of someone else or for some other good. Only God knows, and none of us are qualified to second guess His motives.
God has one agenda and that will always be the salvation of every precious soul because He loves us unconditionally and eternally and wants all of us in heaven with Him. I am sure just as good came out of the Crucifixion death of Jesus who was innocent, so I am sure good came out of the horrible Holocaust. I don't know what, but it could be the salvation of the Nazis. Like I said, who are we to second guess God's motives, but we must trust in His Righteousness.

"The gods can either take away evil from the world and will not, or, being willing to do so, cannot; or they neither can nor will, or lastly, they are both able and willing. If they have the will to remove evil and cannot, then they are not omnipotent. If they can, but will not, than they are not benevolent. If they are neither able nor willing, then they are neither omnipotent nor benevolent. Lastly, if they are both able and willing to annihilate evil, how does it exist?"

God has intervened in the past enough for people to write it down and let us know about it. We have enough information to make our choices between good and evil without him intervening again.

In the Bible days God did all kinds of things, so don't call him powerless.
Moreover it says in Genesis that God is good. So obviously you've been talking to the wrong people.
What you forget too is that God chooses what to do, that doesn't mean he can't do it. Right now, I admit God doesn't do much but that's none of your business anyway.
You better stop asking those questions, cause if he chooses what to do and what not to do, he just might choose to do something funny with you. How would you like that huh?
