Hi m8 don't go rushing down to your Doc's not unless you have been a patient for a long time because they like giving out antidepressants 2groups of drugs 1 is MAOI's 2 is serotonin uptake inhibitors they both can & do cause some nasty side effects including making you feel more down,my advise is to go for some quiet walks & find a place where you can sit & chill & get your thoughts back in order,I know what you mean m8 i'm 35 & sometimes I feel so low I could end it all, other times I get so sick of the city lets say my thoughts make Guy falks plan look tame, just wanna get destructive, but it wont get you or me any peace Bud,take it easy & a friend with weed is a good friend indeed dont mess with pills

I know what you mean but don't let yourself get used to it. You are surely going through a bit of a hard time for one reason or another. It may be depression or ormones or change of life{don't know your age-sorry}. Getting old does not at all mean you get sad. There is the whole process of aging and coping and adjusting to body changes and slowing down etc. You can still be happy though. You must fight and decide to be happy and how to be. It's not easy I know when things aren't good. I have depression and sometimes I wonder is the rest of my life going to be like this, but I hang on to hope. Good luck.

When anyone goes through a bad patch in their lives they feel sad and depressed but you have to strive to get out of it, it can become a habit to be down in the dumps but hell mate life is so short and their are always people far worse off than you so try to bounce back to some sort of happiness.

I believe it is normal to be sad sometimes. You have to feel it when it is appropriate and deal with your feelings so you can go on. If you don't it can progress and you will feel it more than you should.
(Sadness is a natural feeling which, if unfelt, just stays in our array of unresolved trauma knots. As with other emotions, feel it and it will go away. Resist feeling it and it hangs around forever, periodically erupting inappropriately in our body's attempt to rid itself of associated trauma knots.)
I find that when you are feeling down, that if you make yourself get out and do something like volunteering or helping someone out that needs something, you will feel so much better, and it makes their day brighter too. You don't have to spend money to help someone either. It can be holding the door for someone who's hands are full, or smiling and saying hello to someone who looks like they are really having a bad day. I would love to volunteer at a children's hospital. I know they say that is sad, but kids are so resilient. They take everything in stride and don't fret about what is wrong. They live day to day. They take it one day at a time. That is what I learned. Hugs to you.

A constant feeling of sadness is a good reason to talk to your Dr. A constant feeling of sadness is a sign of depression and can be treated with several medications. I would at least ask him/her about it for your well being

The only way that you'd know what happiness is all about it is by experiencing what sadness really is.
It is not getting old, it is getting more interested in what it is that really fulfils you

This is a very good blog, a beginner’s guide to abnormal psychology.
Short, clear and simple; and you can even post your question and contact the author regarding particular subject you are interested in
