i grew up in a Catholic home. I was taught that believing in horoscopes and psychics was bad since only God knows your destiny. How true is this? I've always been curious about going to have my palm read. I don't think I will go to hell for this but will it be like I was turning my back on my faith?

I think that is a bunch of crap. I don't have bad luck and I check my horoscope and have gone as far as done my own tarot readings. I don't believe in bad luck or good luck. The cards read the frequencies, so if they say I'll be surrounded by negative people I know to keep my cool or be on the look out. Who ever told you that is just perpetrating that idea that people shouldn't dabble in those 'arts'. I am not superstitious.

The Bible says:

Deu 18:10 There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

Deu 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

Deu 18:12 For all that do these things [are] an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

So that's God's view.

It is not bad unless you believe it to be. My religion is Wicca and Tarot cards and other forms of divination is very much accepted.

I see no harm in going tarot palm or tarot reader, just be sure you get a legitimate one and not a scammer that will give you a reading for ten bucks and then tell you that you have a curse and it will cost hundreds of dollars to get rid of it. A real professional reader will not gip you like this.

The "bad" part is that we are called to "live by faith and not by sight". You don't need that kind of "sight"....you don't need to know your future - go out and MAKE your own future.

The second "bad" thing is that it is a dangerous area to play in - where you can end up with some harmful messages from dark spirits and demons.

If you are still a practicing Catholic - I'd stay away from that stuff if I were you.

If you're not a practicing Catholic - you don't have to listen to me - but - please, be careful!

People who claim to be able to read fortunes and such are deviant, fraudulent individuals. Participating in their activities in most cases would probably be sinful, thus it would probably also be sinful to spend money on such activity.

Have faith in GOD, save your money, and keep free of all superstition and idolatry. Go a step further and give some money to charity that would have otherwise been wasted visiting a "psychic."

In the books of Kings in the Old Testament it warns strongly against it.

I was always told that it was a sin...but it seems that anytime you do anything fun or interesting outside of going to church or praying, someone in the church is going to tell you you're sinning.

I say that if you want to go get your palm read, then go for it.

horoscopes and tarot is for inspiration only. Those who DO know how to control destiny do not show themselves to mortals like us.

It is bad, Horoscropes are just plain old stupid, they just want the reader to read more , and they dont make much sense to me.
