Over the long term these are the present findings and documentations; cigarettes and alcohol will have detrimental effect on the bodies organs; marijuana has a detrimental effect on the brain cells.. therefore, in the long run it would take longer to suffer the consequences of the prior 2 than would the effect exist for the latter. To me, having less use of the mind would be the more detrimental of the 3 mentioned.

Cigarettes are supposedly the most addictive of the three you have listed. Marijuana is actually used for cancer patients to help improve appetite during chemotherapy. And although alcohol is bad for you, I was told when I was pregnant that smoking has been proven to have a more profound effect on the fetus than alcohol. While neither is preferable, obviously. You should have also listed caffeine, because it blows the other three away in terms of addictiveness.

They are all terrible addictions. Alcohol can lead to serious problems sort term if the person is truly an alcoholic. Cigarettes lead to many health problems long term. Lung cancer is a major disease that can be caused by smoking, but it also negatively affects your arteries. They will turn calcified and you can lose blood flow to your feet. I am a nurse and I see this problem all the time. People get sores that do not heal due to lack of blood flow and they end up needing an artery bypass. The success rates for these many times depends on if the person continues to smoke. I have seen many people lose toes or feet due to these nonhealing issues. It is very sad to see a 50-something lose a body part because of a bad habit.

cigarettes
because its the most socially accepted one of these three, people smoke during work time for example, but in the long run, it snatches away peoples health, puts tar vapour deposits all over everything like grime, its totally disgusting, and it makes people "hyper"; it doesn't relieve stress or make people happy. Its rude, spreads all around to people who want none of it, and it sets off allergic reactions in some people like me, and cigarette smoke is so common, its not given a second thought. Marijuana is much less common, and not "in your face", and it makes some people happy.
Done right, a little bit of alcohol occasionally can be a good thing to relieve stress, improve social skills, "bitters" in small amounts can straighten out minor stomach infection and indigestion, little bit of red wine is healthy for the heart, and help prevent smoke and has anti-oxidants to prevent cancer, although some people abuse too much of it or at wrong times like before driving. But there is no real health benefits to smoking a combination of paper and tobacco thats in cigarettes.

alcohol......the reasons alcohol changes brain chemicals and it becomes more of a dependency than cigarettes....its harder to quit and the withdrawl symtoms are worse...alcohol causes liver disease and can cause gastrointestinal problems.....Death can happen at anytime with no warning for the person drinking or the person who comes into the path of a drunk driver. People who drink typically do not make rational choices which can have drastic consquences. Alcohol abuse can cause ppl to not be able to function in life...they cant hold a job, they lose their families, and they basically self destruct.
cigarettes are dangerous. Lung cancer is prevelant but it does not inhibit thinking. It does not usually kill without warning.
Pot is not addictive....and I have done a thesis on it.....it is enjoyable but it has none of the chemicals in it that cause a physical dependency...if someone thinks they are addicted to it then it is all in their head. I have never heard of anyone killing someone on while toking up.

Out of those three I believe alcohol is the worst because when you drink too much it can effect your decision making, it can cause you to get mean, and most of all some people after getting drunk get behind the wheel of a car and drive killing an Innocent person.

Personally i think cigaretes and alcohol are in the runnings together.
They are both addictive and both have long term effects.
Alcohol affects the liver and cigarettes affcet the lungs. They both do alot of damage over time to other parts of the body also. Now marijuana some say its healty but it is also said that it kills brain cells. So i guess i would say they all run neck and neck nothing good about either of them.

Alcohol-It can kill in a single night and also it can have serious repercussions on close family members like violence.
Cigarettes will kill you but usually not for 30 years and marijuana will make you kind of dopey(pardon the pun).
So Alcohol would be my choice.

My poison was cigarettes, and i really thought i would never quit, but i made it. And you never really think its bad. I don't think mine was the worst, but i feel ever so much better now. I think you chose 3 of the worst for any one, they all cause problems for any one.
