YOU DO NOT!!!!
Sweety, if you are planning to save a few bucks by doin it yourself...think again.
You don't know anatomy so you can easily pierce a poor spot on your ear. You don't know how to get the needle through fast enough so you don't tear and ruin your cartilage. You don't realize that sewing needles are not the same a piercing needles and that the only properly sterile jewelry and equipment is that which a professional piercer uses. cartilage is thick and painful when pierced, if you do it yourself, you'll go slower and cause issues. You'll also be looking at a high risk for infection, ear collapse, keloids and abscesses. You probably won't know the proper way to clean it and deal with any complications....SO DONT PIERCE IT YOURSELF.
Also...DO NOT EVER go to Claire's for piercings of ANY SORT. The gun is dangerous, unclean and unnecessarily painful. The posts that they use do not accommodate for swelling and anatomy. They use ALCOHOL to 'clean' the gun and alcohol doesn't clean anything really.

Save your money and have a professional do it, you'll be a lot happier and way better off.

I would highly suggest NOT doing that. Pay the $40 to have a professional do it in a sterile environment. If you do it your self and it gets infected, the least that will happen is you will have an ugly terrible scar and at the worst, lose that part of your ear.

Not a good idea. It's a lot more difficult than a lobe piercing and can get infected a lot more easily. You can get it done at the mall or at a body piercing shop for pretty cheap--don't risk doing it yourself.

well obviously as you see on here DONT DO IT! you will be very stupid, sorry and regret it. you need to get it done by a PROFESSIONAL! an NO CLAIRES or those shos int eh malls that use pierce guns ARE NOT PREOFEESIONAL!!!!! you need to get it done with a HOLLOW needle. it will make a clean cut through the ear. guns tramatizee the are so ti takes longer to heal and you are more likely to develop keliods. which is an ugly bump of skin(overgrowth of scar tissue) plus if you pierce it yourself you will most likely get an infection. and your ear can collapse......making it permanently disfigured? still want to do it? i dont think so........

Do not even attempt it your ear is too close to your brain and the risk of infection is very probable keep in mind yours ears discharge a waxy substance which could easily harbour germs.

dont even think of peircing your cartileage by yourself. Terrible, terrible infections and reactions acure if you do that. Like you could have bumps by that area on your ear called keliods, which are really raised scars. They're really gross.

Disinfect a small sharp object (Pin, needle), heat it up and press it through. Clean the area and add a ring to the area and voila!
Better go to a shop to get it done if your freaked out by this.

Better have a person who knows what they are doing do it for you. You are liable to mess the job up, and if conditions aren't sterile, you may get a serious infection from it.

Please dont try to do it by yourself if you are legal age or have consent from parents try someone with good background and of course some experience, even the most expert people who do this can fail sometimes.
Please think twice about why do you want a pierce....
