You could try making one yourself : http://www.fabitnsave.com/index.htm

Or try looking in a farm catalog, at auctions and in your local paper. Good Luck!

Hello Scots,

You can make a cider press, google 'make cider press'. I just made some which is fermenting but it took ages because we did it with a juicer and it took ages. So a press would be much better. Remember to use apples from different trees.

We also have some Perry on the go, but cheated and used pear Juice. It smells lovely though, but is going mad in the demi john.

One idea is to pay a large cider press (at a farm) to press your apples for you.

It is so much hard work and it takes so many apples to make a gallon of cider that you really have to be keen to do this.

I mashed mine using a potato masher after chopping up the apples! It took ages. Never again.

Wine presses are unlikely to be anywhere near strong enough, even if you chop the apples up first. i.e. the £300 press is unlikely to do the job!

PS: If you cheat and boil the apples, it will taste like apple wine. Not very nice.
