He doesn't send them to hell, they choose hell (those that won't believe) Man sinned, Jesus hung on a cross and spilled His blood to save you from your sins (you=everyone) if you reject it, you have to pay the punishment for your sins, which is the second death.

When we were created, we were given free will. With that free will, we are able to choose what we want. Jesus WANTS people to choose Him, but they don't have to. He is not being cruel when you go to hell, because it was your choice to go there. By not choosing Him, you are choosing to be against Him.

Matthew 12:30 NIV
"He who is not with me is against me..."

It is because He loves you that He has given you a free will. If you did not have free will, then you would simply be the equivalent of a programed robot. If a robot that was programed to say "I love you" said what it was supposed too, would that make you feel very loved? No, you built it so that that was all it said! But if you could create something that had a will of its own; something that could say I love you or I hate you, would you not feel so much more loved if, on its own accord and because it wanted to, told you that it loved you? It is almost the same with God. True love cannot be a programed thing, it is something that only a being with a free will and emotions can express. Thus, God gave you free will so that you could truly love Him. He already loves you, but He wants you to know Him. So Jesus, in giving you a free will, gives you the abiltity to love Him or not. He also says that you either are with Him or are against Him. There is no middle ground. When you die, it's either heaven or hell. God already loves you, you simply have to make the choie to love Him. God bless!

John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hi, look I am really trying to be helpful here and I am not judging, but let me say if you do not believe in God or in Jesus or the Gospels then you will never get your head around this question as it cannot make any sense to an unbeliever, in fact it will most likely cause resentment and anger.
however for a believer in Christ this question should pose no difficulty.
the fact is when we are openly rebellious to God and His law we are in sin as basically sin is disobedience, not to purposely come to know God we use our free will to reject Him and therefore have no part in the everlasting life of God after we die.
now God is the author of love this is His essence and love and hate cannot exist together in any sort of harmony, in a way it`s like trying to mix water and oil, if we turn from God in this mortal life then this decision is the one we carry to the afterlife and then there is no turning back on our life`s descision. this rejectiom of God is the rejection of eternal love and if Hell is anything it is a place were love cannot exist, and with the knowledge of our own state after our death we will clearly see that we do not belong in Gods prescence but belong in the place of rejection(Hell) and we will fully understand why we must be there ourselves.

Humans need a reason to justify their existence therefore the heaven and hell differences exist. Do the right thing and follow the rules of your belief system and all is well. Choose not and the negative comes to fruition. The same thing applies to the uneducated, jungle dwelling people who live without any amenities or knowledge of anything modern. It's all a state of mind.

I love answering this question. Since God gave us the law and the Bible, He is the one who gave us right and wrong. We wouldn't know that stealing was wrong unless God said, "Thou shalt not steal." We wouldn't know what lieing was unless God said, "Thou shalt not lie." God is God, and He's the judge. God is good, and His Son Jesus never sinned, He never did anything wrong. We sinned and deserved Hell not because God was wicked but because WE (humans) were wicked, or selfish, or evil. YOU are not the judge, HE is the JUDGE. You never made the rules or laws, HE made the laws. How can the one who created right and wrong be wrong? We were wrong, sinners, so because God LOVED us He sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for us, take our punishment and take our place, so we could be forgiven of our sins and never have to go to Hell but go to Heaven forever. Heaven will be an awesome place. You are cruel and mean to yourself if you refuse God's gift of salvation and eternal life, if you refuse to believe and send YOURSELF TO HELL by not believing. God loves you and Christ died to save you so you or anyone would never have to go to Hell, but go to an awesome place called Heaven forever when you leave this earth.
So quit being cruel to yourself and accept an awesome Jesus Christ as your friend and your Lord and Savior because He loves you.

Because he is a jealous God, he wants you to be as a chaste virgin. Take God's word as a love letter to you, and He as your lover (your of your soul) If He were to take the time to write a letter (which he has, The Holy Scriptures) and he found out that when he came back that you hadn't even read his letter, how do you think he will feel? When he returns, he is coming in claim his bride. He is the bridegroom. For a more in-dept study, I suggest you listen to Pastor Arnold Murray, he teaches the bible chapter by chapter and verse by verse. He even has a question and answer time. Very in-dept study.

God is perfect and Holy. He cannot have sin in His Holy Presence. If God had sin in His Holy presence it would change His character. God is pure. God is love. He loves us all. He did not create Hell for man but for Satan and his followers. God created man to have fellowship with Him. God also created man with the ability to choose. Man chose to disobey God. God chose to show man grace and provided a Way of reconciliation. God sent His one and only Son as the ultimate blood sacrifice for all those who choose to accept it as God's gracious gift of reconciliation. There are two ways to live.

I see your point and have heard many people ask this.

Here's the thing-Jesus doesn't send people to hell. You see God gave people "free will" to choose their fate in life. The one and only way to get to heaven in through his son Jesus Christ. What this means is that you have to believe that Jesus died on the cross to save humanity from all their sins and bear the weight of the world on his shoulders. You have to accept that Jesus is your personal Savior and choose to live your life for Him.

Imagine that you had debt. Someone came to you and said I will forgive all your debt if just accept the offer. Of course you would accept! That's what God did. He sent his son to die for all of us. Now you have the chose whether you want to accept God's gift of eternal life and Jesus as your Savior. It's pretty easy-no strings attached. All he asks from you is that you just live for Him.

The Bible says that it will be easier or a camel to go thru the eye of a needle than man to enter the kingdom of heaven becuase so few will choose to believe.

So you see, people aren't sent to hell. Many people believe that they simply have to be a good person and live a good life and not do things like murder, lie or steal and they will be fine. But you are not living your life for God-you are still living your life for you.
God is love and because of free will, he sent his son to die for us and then it's up to us to choose. So it's not about cruelty-it's about man's own selfish desires to do what he pleases.

I know this can be tough to understand. If you want a reference manual to refer to-the Bible is a good one :)

i dont know the answer to this question but i have many thoughts on the subject. some r conflicting, so i will give u just one. perhaps Jesus was trying to tell us that when we die we can go to different places, dimensions, planes, etc. when we see him, we are to follow him to heaven or to that place that is good, how ever you want to look at it. if when we die, we see him but we turn away and do not follow him and let him show us the way to heaven, we dont go to heaven, but we go somewhere else. maybe are reincarnated. i guess we will find out when we die. for now, id say trying to live a loving peaceful helpful grateful life is something to strive for no matter what the outcome.

You don't seem to understand the fundamentals of the rebirth. We are all ready dead spiritually. We need to be born of the Spirit of God. Without that, we have no life. And Hell is only the grave. When a person dies physically, he's dead period. It's not a place of eternally punishment like some would have it. It's an eternal "destruction".
