Great question, Alex.
I think most Americana's would. I know that I would, for sure. But then I believe that if my country is at war, I need to stand behind the troops and my president. It doesn't really matter if I agree or not, I still need to be supportive.

That depends on what reasons and what possible reasons we might have for doing that.
If the reason is WMDs or foiling terrorist plans, forget about it; the American people would only support a war with France if it was over the decreased import of French fries that would be hurting their tummies, since that seems to the issue we care about most in this country.

Whoever did support it would soon change their tune when France called on their allies in the EU to help them out. France has nuclear weapons, and biological weapons too - enough to level several large US cities. Not as much as France would suffer, but certainly enough to make Americans life hell.

Open4one I agree with you, cause the media has everything to do with everything and that's scary.
However, after Iraq, I don't see us going to war for a very long time, even if we're attacked again. But I do see us doing what Clinton did, just slapping back once in awhile with a itty bitty rocket.

Great question. Knowing the snooty way the French are. I am not surprised if we can have more than half the world would love it. Secondly, knowing how US goes to war with any country, more than half the world will hate it.
Hence, either way, I guess it wont matter much to anyone.

Nobody would support it.
If France committed an act of war against us, then everybody would support our going to war with them. And that's because that's how our country operates. We wage war when we're attacked, because that's when everybody supports war.

Hopefully very few. France is one of our major allies, despite recent tensions between our two nations. We need to focus on major problems like terrorism and come together, not fight. September 11th really affected the French people, too, because it showed them that if we were vulnerable to attack on our own soil, so are they. Why fight our friends?
