A mortal sin has to be a direct violation of God's commandments and will, in which the sinner knows what he or she is doing is a sin.
1) Deliberately (intentionally) looking at porn is a mortal sin, yes. Our Lord said that any man who lusts after a woman (this also applies vice-versa) has committed adultery in his heart. It would likely be a venial sin if you accidently clicked a link on the computer, or were mislead by a friend as to what was on a DVD or video tape.
2) Reading about sex or techniques can be a mortal sin, if you use the information wrong. It isn't a mortal sin if you're using it for scholarly purposes, or to improve relations with your husband/wife. It is, however, a mortal sin if you're reading it as if it were a pornographic novel, or using it as a way of having sex with multiple women, committing adultery, or premarital sex.
God bless!

According to the Catholic Church, for something to be mortally sinful, three conditions must be met:
1. It is a very grave matter
2. Full consent
3. Full knowledge that it was wrong
Now, what each of those three conditions exactly mean can be open to interpretation. Ultimately, I cannot tell you if it was mortal sin or not. It comes down to you and God. If you feel that it is wrong than it probably is. Seek advice from an impartial priest. Remember that even if you did do something wrong, God can forgive you if you let Him.

What is your definition of mortal sin? Sin is sin. Some are worse than others indeed.
In the case of porn I would say it is certainly sinful activity because you are taking in more lust and fueling your own self-destructive sexual fantasys we all have as guys. I I can tell you that once you get married it very much interferes with your marriage.
There is nothing wrong with sexual techniques and things like that because youre not watching them to fuel your fantasies, you are watching them to learn how to please your spouse which is a good thing to do!

Unfortunately, yes. Watching porn is a sin. As for question number two...only if you are preparing to have sex outside of marriage is it a sin to study sexual techniques. With you wife, not so much.

Here is a good test that you can put anything up to. Start with God's rule, Love thy God with all thy heart. Then ask yourself if watching porn detracts any from your love of God. The answer is yes, because the human mind loves sin and hates God. So, they are both sin. The human thought is happy to sin and die forever. The trick is to catch thoughts that you entertain, and determine their origin, either from above (harmless, beautiful, and divine) or from the subtlety of the serpent, a.k.a. the human consciousness, as ungodly and gross as can be. With all this in thought, you will now be able to open doors in your own thought and start to "clean house," so to speak. It takes courage to go down this new path, but you will find it, and you will probably develop a crop of new friends too.

1) Yes.
2) Yes, if you are not married. No, if you are married and you and your spouce are reading it together.
Every sin is a mortal sin. There are two ways to live and only one way to be forgiven of your mortal sins because a Holy God cannot let sin into His Holy Presence.
Yes, Hell will be packed by those who partake in watching porn and do not repent and forsake it.

I am not a fan of people making it a habit to obsessively watch pornography instead of building relationships with flesh and blood people. I don't understand the allure. But, it would not be a mortal sin to research those things that you have little experience in. There is a lurid and cold, detached attitude portrayed by actors in pornographic films. I would hate for you to model yourself on that. But, we each have the freedom to make of life what we will.

It is a sin against the virtue of chastity and personal purity in the eye`s of God and as such is a serious sin, again this would apply to reading sex techniques as well if perversion is involved in the material..

Live your life, any sort of decent God-like entity should be a little more forgiving then to damn all the porno viewers.

The Catholic church particular has a manner with messing up someone's wakeful. I went by way of lots comparable to you different than i grew to become into on my own with my wakeful, it grew to become into undesirable , questioning if I ought to admit or not the embarrassment,I in no way decide to pass back there. i'm particular I gave some undesirable innovations to a clergyman. i don't think of God cares,i don't think of that's a sin. that's a wellbeing out enable for you, till you're arranged for the duty of a relationship.
