have a good luck at your hair line. does it look like its starting to receed? chances are if it is then you may go bald, if your hairline is still strong then probably not. my boyfriend's dad is balding, yet his hair line is fine he's early 20's. his brother, who is just turned 21 however, over the past fews years his hairline is gradually moving further and further back!

If you are male and your father is bald, then yes, you will lose hair at some point. Not necessarily bald, but maybe just a bald spot. My father was mostly bald, with just a "u" shape of hair round the sides and back of his head. I just have a bald spot, not completely bald.

Don't worry about it, there's no shame in being bald.

You will likely lose hair if your Mother's father did. Generally speaking there is genetics involved here. They say, the gene for male pattern baldness is on your Mom's side. It's associated with testosterone levels, the higher the testosterone, it is believed, the more hair loss. There are things you can do, before you start to lose hair though! Ask your hairdresser!

Hey there,
Millions of people all over the world are affected by hair loss, and it's not only the males that suffer this condition as even females are affected by this problem. What's sad is that many of the individuals affected by such a condition end up just accepting what is happening to their hair due to lack of information or options.

Baldness is a trait which involves the state of lacking hair where it often grows, especially on the head. The most common form of baldness is a progressive hair thinning condition called androgenic alopecia or 'male pattern baldness' that occurs in adult human males and some primate species. The severity and nature of baldness can vary greatly; it ranges from male and female pattern alopecia (androgenetic alopecia, also called androgenic alopecia or alopecia androgenetica), alopecia areata, which involves the loss of some of the hair from the head, and alopecia totalis, which involves the loss of all head hair, to the most extreme form, alopecia universalis, which involves the loss of all hair from the head and the body. Treatment for alopecia has limited success. The more hair lost, the less successful the treatment will be.
It was previously believed that baldness was inherited from a person's maternal grandfather. While there is some basis for this belief, both parents contribute to their offspring's likelihood of hair loss. Most likely, inheritance is technically "autosomal dominant with mixed penetrance"
* Incidence of pattern baldness varies from population to population based on diet and personal habits. One large scale study in Maryborough, in central Victoria (Australia) showed the prevalence of mid-frontal hair loss increases with age and affects 57% of women and 73.5% of men aged 80 and over.

Male pattern baldness is characterized by hair receding from the lateral sides of the forehead, known as "receding hairline" or "receding brow." An additional bald patch may develop on top (vertex). The trigger for this type of baldness (called androgenic alopecia because it is caused by male hormones or androgens) is DHT, a powerful sex hormone.

well, I hear that the gene for baldness runs from the mother's side so if there are relatives on your mother's side that are bald it's a good possibility that you will.
If so, shave it before it looks to bad. women like bald guys too :)

Are bald eagles really bald...No... Their heads are covered with short white feathers. The term "bald" may be from the Old English word balde that meant white. Bald eagles are sometimes called American eagles, fishing eagles, Washington eagles, and white-headed eagles.

look at your mothers' side of the family. a mother carries the bald gene, not the father. it's not a certain thing that you'll be bald.
