Basically those churches that are recognized by the Pope but are not "Latin" churches like the majority here in the U.S.

Well considering the pope is against birth control, I would guess that the eastern Catholic church would follow his teachings.

I've seen mixed stances. If I had to guess, I would say they are probably A LOT more lenient, as they are with divorce, and some clergy can (i.e. priests can be married as long as they were married prior to ordination). Are you familiar with the New Skete Monks? They're pretty open-minded about these types of issues. Check out their website, they may even be willing to answer your questions if you ask politely....
