sit down and tell them youre moving out, whys it so hard? explain why youre moving out, with whom if its somebody, where youre moving to, be mature about it. they should be happy for you, but your mom might be kinda sad because her baby is moving out of the house, but thats a parental thing, youll understand when/if you ahve kids that move out of the house.

I no where your coming from on this one - I had to tell my mam a few months back that I wanted to move out but unfortunately I ended up having to stay (financial reasons) so Good Luck with your move!

I know its hard to actually get the words out of your mouth but honestly - your parents are expecting it one day and although they will miss you they want you to move on with your life and experience new things! They'll probably be more worried youll come back and want your old room back which they've just redecorated into "the study" or "a dressing room" lol

Go for it and enjoy it - the freedom is fantastic!!!

Fear will never resolve anything, so sit down with your parents and plainly tell them that you will be moving out shortly. Give them the reasons behind this and the truth no matter how it hates, has to be said. Remember, they may also have done it when they were kids, so come out in the open, no lies as they will haunt you in the future.

First make sure you have all the info. Where you'll be living. Who your roommates are. Transportation concerns. Reassure them that you'll still be going to school if you are in school. Remind them that you have a job that can pay the bills. Be honest and prepared for their reaction.

Then be prepared to pay for your own cell phone, car insurance, groceries, clothes, etc. If you already pay for these you are set, but if your parents pay for these things, you better have a way to cover them.

If they take it well, let them see your new place. Meet the roommates. Set up a time to call them at least monthly if not more.

Just tell them, and be ready to tell them why and where. I moved out when I was 20 and had to tell my Dad. He took it in his stride. Every parent accepts that at somepoint their children will move out one day, some find it easy and some don't - but they all accept it - if they take it hard, don't worry they'll come round.

Do it after dinner some night and just say "I need to talk to you guys. I think it's time I moved out and I'm planning to do so" and then tell them where you're moving and when.

If you are confident that you are mature enough to move out on your own then you have to know that your parents also see that and they will hopefully understand and support you! It may take some time to totally convince them, but just keep proving yourself to be responcible and use your head! Close your eyes and spit it out!Good Luck:)
