hi
Bulimia and other food disorders are not just about diet and loosing weight. It has a lot to do with control over the persons own life.I'm not sure of your friends age or situation but it could be they feel they have no control over their life.Sometimes, also,it could be about a major life change(e.g divorce,a death, bullying, etc)again this behavior is their way of escaping reality and gaining some control over a situation. She definitely needs a good friend like yourself to chat too,and also a little friendly nudge to seek out counseling. One last thing, don't try to stop her yourself, its her at the end of the day that needs to decide to stop by getting some help, etc.Good luck, stay strong and just be there for her OK :)

Yes. Get support instantly. I grew to be bulimic while I was once 12 and most often went backward and forward among anorexia and bulimia. I was once hospitalized for bulimia the week earlier than my sixteenth birthday and spent my birthday within the health center, overlooked approximately a month of institution. It destroys your insides. I practically died. I comprehend it would possibly believe like a well free up or a well type of self-punishment, however in the event you relatively devour healthful and endeavor you are going to believe SO well approximately your self and it's going to simply make you a happier character I promise. I understand youth is HARD and you are most effective thirteen so I wish you to grasp it's going to get tougher, however do what's correct in your frame and for your self and get support.

this is a difficult disease (not a disorder) and needs to be dealt with by qualified medical help. It is difficult for many people who suffer from bulimia to be responsive to treatment as the perceive themselves as fat, or that their eating habits are normal. They need to realize that the continued practice causes not just cause rapid weight loss but malnutrition, and terrible effects from the stomach acid on their esophagus.

The best thing you can do with a person who is suffering from this is to continue communication with her parents. If they don't help then contact someone in the medical field in your area. This is a serious disease and you need to realize that even if they don't like what you do to help them...it doesn't matter...you are helping them. There is no guilt in helping someone to see past themselves.

hey, listen to her, ask her why, & tell her how u feel...girls with eating disorders lash out on their bodies with the things they are battling with internally...just be there for her. you can't stop her from doing what she is doing but you can help her win the battle..
