Obviously you have no idea what Jesus asked his disciples to do. There are three accounts of the last supper: Matt 26:26-29, Mark 14:22-25, and Luke 22:15-20. Only in Luke, do you get:
Luke 22:19And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me." 20In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
Please note that it is the bread that is to remembered. The cup is the new covenant. Now my only question is: Do you know Passover, the feast of unleavened bread?

Jesus said, "Do this in remembrance of me. Drink of this fruit of the vine, this is my blood that is shed for the remission of sins for many. Eat of this bread, for this is my body that is broken for you."
I take Holy Communion in remembrance for what Jesus did for me.
When Jesus said similar what your question is to a group of people, many turned away from Him. Jesus asked the few that remained, "Are you going to stay?" Even if what Jesus said was hard to understand, one said, "What can I do, you are the Way to everlasting life.".
And contrare to canibalism, though that was mans sins on the cross. Jesus is the only one capable to pay for our sins. For He was without sin. So, actually, no other sacrifice could compare. So it put an end to other sacrifices, even sacrificing children to devils. Or sacrificing animals.
Aren't you glad that Jesus wants us to remember what He did for us with grape juice and broken bread?

One does that when he accepts the truth of Jesus and some would argue you do it during communion. If so, yes I have done both.

It's not that we "eat another person". Jesus' body and blood are really present in the Eucharist, but in a spiritual unbloodied way.
Jesus is God.
