This show's how something can be so ridiculous that people believe, PLEASE TAKE NO OFFENCE.

That's like saying "God here's $40, can I come in to heaven now?"
You need to be good and not be bad.

When reading the book Moby Dick, did you believe it because it was literature? No. Then why follow the Bilble, when MAN created it, just like Moby Dick.

Three things have to happen. The bad guy would have to have a change of heart and truly realize the pain caused. Then, he has to do good deeds and penance the rest of his life. And probably the next one and the next one, too.

Let me give you an anology, too. Warning! This may be a bit graphic . . .

In San Jose, a man was driving through a Farmer's market too fast. He hit and killed eight or nine people. Bodies were flying through the air.

Later, he issued an apology. But we know he can't just say, "Gosh, I'm sorry" and go on with his life. We hold him accountable for his actions for the sake of the victims and so that he can't do it again.

God is a God of forgiveness and second chances. If someone truly repents then they have a new start. Have a look at King David in the bible. He broke all 10 commandments but because of his heartfelt repentance before God the bible describes him as 'a man after Gods own heart'.

We all make mistakes, sometimes really stupid ones, but it is never too late to turn to Jesus while you are still living.

The key to heaven is to love the Lord and believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and then rose from the dead, it's not to live a sin free life. God will forgive but there are consequences for our actions.

Does he ask Christ into his heart? Does he accept Christ into his life and really seek forgiveness.

I believe the guy will have to pay here on earth for all the pain he caused, but as for his soul, if he trusts in the Lord to save him through Jesus, then he will go to heaven.

Then comes offering ashes or crowns, which this guy's lfie will be judged even as a Christian.

Charles Manson could ask for forgiveness but if he did not ask with a truly repentant heart then he would not be forgiven. You have to truly feel sorry for what you did and not just pay lipservice to Jesus. He knows the difference and it is He who will decide everyone's fate in the final analysis.

You mean like what a typical soldier has to do in a war? Good question. I would think that some sort of "deeds" or pennance is required, but who knows? Oh yeah, and someone mentioned about Ghandi. Sorry but if he didn't accept Jesus there could be trouble in store for him (based on literal Christian teachings).

Well, like one of the answerers said, I doubt Jesus would forgive himbecause of the sole reason that he knows that the guy is only asking for forgiveness to avoid Hell. Simple. As. That.

You mean someone like Saul of Tarsus? You need to understand that our forgiveness is not based upon the quality of our repentance or the quantity of our faith, bur rather upon the sufficiencey of the sacrifice. The blood of Jesus is so precious in the sight of The Father, that it fully paid for all sin for all people forever. Glory to the Lamb that was slain.

There's a bit more to it than just asking for forgiveness. Don't get the idea you can plan to do a bunch of horrible things and then ask Jesus to forgive you and all will be well.
Be not decieved, God is not mocked.

What does the bible say? If a person repents of their sins, God forgives them, and puts their sin as far as the east is from the west, and remembers them no more.

That being said, we all know on earth there are consequences to actions! Like jail!
